Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Their pizza is good but their delivery is unreliable. Placed my order online and got a confirmed delivery time. Well past that time and still waiting. Called Paxti and they said they would check, put me on hold, and never came back. 4 stars for eating there 2 stars for if you order delivery

Ok Chicago style pizZa. Little star is much better
(3)Nicolas C.
Four out of four. Good food. Good atmosphere. Good service. Good drinks (mainly because they are cheep). On a few occasions Kyle has been our server and he is a rockstar. Very attentive, very friendly. Always a good time at Patxi's.

This place was so good! We had a deep dish pizza and it was so delicious. We had the smallest size and it was perfect for me and my boyfriend. We will definitely be going back when we visit San Francisco again!

Ordered take out and it's not the same as eating in. The pizza was warm at best but it still left a big smile after my first big bite. As a native NYer, I usually don't like deep dish although my cravings have all been sicilian slices back in the 5 boroughs. I still have a hard time deciding between Patxi's and Little Star. Both are very good at what they do but I give Patxi's an extra edge for delivering. =)
(4)Francisco N.
Definitely one of the best pizzas in San Francisco. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 is because the wait (once you are sitted) can be very long. I'm talking of about 45 - 60 min wait to get your pie. But once its in your table, it IS pure glory.
(4)Alex F.
Pretty Dang good....I usually very satisfied with Chicago Deep Dish and it even tstes better the next day.
(4)jozilla w.
Had a lovely dinner there with Regina C and Helen T (hi girls!). The wait wasn't too long and I liked how it felt sort of pizza joint-y, but like regina said there was just TOO. MUCH. CHEESE. and i love cheese. i'm lactose intolerant, but i freaking LOVE cheese anyway (and i wonder why i don't have a boyfriend). Little Star still holds the #1 spot in my heart...although I hear grimaldis in new york is supposed to be legendary!

Yum! I've had real Chicago style pizza in Chicago (that's actually the only place) so I went into Patxi's with a bit of an open mind since a lot of cuisines don't seem to be as good when they aren't in their native element. However, Patxi's as far as I am concerned lived up to it with the ginormous slices and flaky, crispy crusts. I dunno how people can eat more than two slices. That's the same thing that happens to me in Chicago. Of course some of the bodybuilders I hang out with can definitely put away some slices.

I loved this place for along time, mostly. I accepted and dealt with the better than thou attitude they have. Tonight push me too far..... I spent 20 minutes trying to order online and trying to use the email discount coupon they sent me via email with no luck... So I decided to call in my order instead. I called and was left on hold for over five minutes before they answered them phone and at 9:46 to tell me that they were no longer taking delivery orders. Sounds to me that they cut off the delivery time well before 9:45 and just didn't tell anyone..... Hey Patxi's, don't do me anymore favors! I'll take me business to someone who wants my money.
(1)Mimi T.
It's always a toss up between Little Star and Patxi's...One one hand, Little Star pizza is slightly better and they also offer up wings...but Patxi's delivers..I hate to admit it but often times convenience reigns especially on those rainy days.. You really can't go wrong with either though..

Best deep dish in SF.

Patxi's is a chain, so if you are aware of their reputation, you know that their pizza is killer. I first tried their pizza at the Yelp Elite Holiday Party 2013 where the Palo Alto restaurant had set up a booth. I've had some good deep dish pizza so the bar was high. However, this place made the cut. Their crust was too die for. I was a little skeptical of the whole, "try the crust with honey," but it worked well. My experience at this Patxi's has made the cut as well. The pizzas we ordered were delicious and my group was satisfied. The only problems for which I have taken off a star are as follows: 1) They don't take reservations. I've mentioned this detail in other reviews; if your restaurant is that popular that patrons need to wait 45 minutes-1 hour waiting for a table after they have put their name down, then you should take reservations. 2) Their pizza, especially their deep-dish pizza, takes FOREVER to make. Now, I understand that the extended length of time is normal, but it ties back with the reservation point above. If the patron is going to wait 45 minutes for a table and then another 45 minutes to get their pizza, then is it really worth the time coming here. Even though there were two issues, I only took off one star BECAUSE: 1) While you are waiting for a table, they do allow you to order a pizza so they can start making it while you are waiting. (Although be warned, once I called to order a pizza and the lady who picked up said, sorry, the chefs are not taking orders. I was right across the street at Brass Tacks and had a couple in me so I said, "uhh no," and went to Patxi's where the waiter gladly took my order. I don't what the deal was but yeah just be aware of difficult waiters/waitresses) 2) Brass Tacks is right across the street so you can grab drinks there while you are waiting, which makes me overlook the waiting period to a certain extent. 3) The pizza is good enough to warrant the waiting time for the pizza itself. Therefore I am not taking two stars off. However, as long as their is some aspect they can control like allowing a reservation to be placed beforehand, I must take off a star. However, like I said, they make a great pizza, so if you have some time, definitely stop by here for a good bite!
(4)Christina N.
Can't go wrong with the deep dish pizza! One slice is more than enough to fill me up, but gosh, I want more! Generous toppings, great crispy crust. I'm not usually a fan of pizza, but I wouldnt mind more of this. Patxi's delivered their pizza to my office for our lunch and it was delicious. Remember to have it while it is still warm!
(4)Ezra B.
Maybe it's because I've been spoiled with actual deep-dish pizza from Chicago, but this pizza just doesn't compare. While it is the best deep-dish pizza I've had in SF, again, I was a little disappointed with Patxi's. I had heard how great it was before going, and it simply didn't live up to expectations. It took a good 20-30 minutes just to get seats, and then another 30 minutes or so before we got our pizza. The deep-dish pizza I got was average; the sauce tasted a little watery, the crust was "blah." My wife had the vegan and gluten-free pizza, which was good for what it is, but V/GF pizza just isn't that tasty. Overall, it's worth going to, but don't set your expectations too high.
(3)Rasyeed J.
If could give this place negative stars, I would. Let's start off with pros about this place. The food is good. Definitely worth the money if you're really feeling a pizza kind of night. Definitely go during the weekdays if you don't want to wait to be seated. Oh, and definitely call to order your food before you come to subtract the 30+ minute wait. A little pricey but hey, it's San Francisco. Now the reasoning for the 1 star. Cons: The service is terrible. I came in for lunch with my girlfriend and ordered, I had to ask multiple times for a refill on a simple water and nothing came. I turn around to see what was the hold up and I see the waiters on their phone discussing who knows what. This isn't the first time I've had terrible waiters, but I guess it is what it is. Now for the annoying part. So my girlfriend and I decided to split he check. You know, I pay half, you pay half? Well she gave me a $20 bill while I decided to pay with my card because why not? I've done it before? I'm sure you've done it too. Now here's the situation, the waiter took the bill, along with the $20 and the card, and came back for reassurance and asked me, "cash first right?" Of course I nodded and said yes accordingly. The receipt was correct, no overcharge or anything. We left, everything was fine. We came back home and I decided to see how much I had spent and found out surprisingly that I have been charged for the full meal on my card? Hmm? I called back, they said they will look into it tomorrow.. Okay? So I waited, they said that they would call me back by noon.. Oh look, 1:30.. I called, "I'll call you back.." Called me back stating that, "Our waiter, Bret said that I HAD MISTAKENLY HID THE $20 BEHIND THE BILL SO HE HAD CHARGED ME FOR FULL ON THE CARD." Earlier in my story, did he not ask me, "cash first right?" Wow, furious with this whole dilemma, the "general manager" tried to explain that they only charged the money that was swiped.. Now, my bank stated otherwise.. It clearly stated that "patxis pizzeria charged $xx.xx" he tried blaming the bank on the situation but I argued back that I never bought pizza from my bank, I bought it from you. With all that being said, my situation still hasn't been solved and I am never coming back here again. My advice to you, PAY CASH or CARD, but never split. I guess they don't know the meaning of "cash first" or "split the check; and most of all, don't play hide-n-go-seek with your money. They might use it as an excuse to charge you more. Congrats Patxi! All time best place to sell $60 worth of a 10 inch pizza. :)

Not a huge fan of chicago deep dish pizza yet ordered a slice of deep dish and a slice of thin crust pizza and was satisfied with both. Next time I'll check in to unlock the dollar PBR deal since that's what hipsters do!

Three stars because the pizza is delicious and the bartender was a good guy. But we have literally been here for an hour now and no pizza has been served. Last I was here it was a great experience pizza was great service was great, that's why we returned but today the our waiter had been to our table once to bring water and that's it. We pre ordered our pizza around 535 540 it is now 635 all that has been served is a small personal children's cheese pizza which was just placed on our table no more then two minutes ago. Seriously?

In terms of Chicago deep-dish pizza, I'd place this behind Little Star on Valencia near 15th and further behind Zachary's pizza in Berkeley/Albany. However, those two places are hard to beat and this place easily takes 3rd place on the long, long list of pizza places. The sauce on the deep-dish pizzas is really good and even the thin-crust slices are good. Get ready for lots of cheese. They've also got some good micro-brew on tap or you can go with the Pabst cans [gag] if that's your preference. The deep-dish slices they have for by-the-slice vary day to day, but I think the think they always have cheese and pepperoni for thin-crust.

Since Superbowl is just around the corner, I think it's about time to give some love to our favorite Pizza place in SF. Mr & I love football. And what goes well while watching football, beer and pizza. We always order half hawaiian (for me) & for Mr. Mushroom and sausage and of course, it's Chicago style, YUMMY! I don't mind that they don't deliver because their location is great. It gives Mr & I a chanced to check out the little stores in the neighborhood. Service as far as I'm concerned is great.

Unfailing and immensely satisfying, would that love and restaurants were all as such. Patxi's will be my first yelp review because it is by far the restaurant that I most frequent in the whole Bay Area. I must have been there four dozen times since it opened three years ago, for only one of which have I lived in The City. And about half those times have been first dates, for am I to be certain of one thing in a night, it is that I will dine on sumptuous, soft crust filled with fresh ingredients topped with tender chunks of tomatoes - and if I'm smart pesto - and that the food will be satisfying. Economy is always an issue with first dates as well and unless you're a real slurper, a meal for two at Patxi's should never set you back more than $50. Good looking, successful people abound in this trendy street down the center of Hayes Valley - with whom I always try and make a subtle association in the mind of the flavor of the night. Should one show up and feel immediate regret, one seats oneself to view the plasma screen TVs playing any notable sports game on the wall. Should the date appear to have more to say, face the local art adorning the brick walls of the dapper and clean dining room with crisp lighting and deep colors. If I could learn how to harness the mojo of the deep dish, to extricate the inevitable words that flow from the mouths of each potential love that I take here, often preceded by the slurping up of a gooey drip of cheese still dangling from their soft lips: "This is the best pizza I've ever had." The night would move on and the phrase would repeat itself, substituting "you're" for "this is" and omitting "pizza" from the equation all together. The first phrase never fails to be spoken, the latter is mostly imagined, I'm afraid. The most heart-rending of them all was also the first. It was unfortunate in every way, as I had torn my MCL the day of the date, but somehow made it out and was revived by the pizza and wine. The menu allows you to design your own pizza, choose any ingredient you like, any style, wheat crust, thin crust, no sauce, extra, it doesn't matter. The same is not true of life and age, I should warn you. Just because you imagine yourself to be four years older and that's what you tell to some woman in a bar in order to get her into bed, does not mean that it is forever true. I kept up the facade for the duration of the meal and one more date with the golden silk haired, Mallorca ocean-eyed, Canadian transplant, who was still two years the senior of my imagined age. But one night after a session of smoldering passion, I confessed, and things soon tapered off. Nearly a year later, the software company she worked for had an uber successful IPO and she's no doubt a millionaire several times over. A better meal, however, she'll not need all that money for. As a side note, what Zachary's loyals need to know is that a group of managers left Zach's to start up this twist on Chicago pizza joints, with an affluent classiness and modern flair to appeal to the Palo Alto and San Francisco crowds where Patxi's has its two restaurants. Anyone who knows Zach's cannot help but leave the restaurant thinking "If only I could run such a restaurant" and the bosses at Patxi's are actually the most amazing couple with a relationship that I continually hope will rub off on me via osmosis by being in their restaurant, or ingestion by eating their pizza. The difference in food quality is essentially nil; both are top notch in every respect.

Probably the worst service I have ever gotten. I brought my boyfriend and I here as our last date before he had to fly back home but coming here made our last hours together feel wasted. It was our first time here and we walk in stand by the sign that said "please wait to be seated"and the host sees us after we tell him we have a party of 2 and he tells us to go to the front of the line even though there were many open tables. We get to the cashier and the guy tells us that this is the "to-go" line and we needed to go to the host and that we had to wait in line all over again. The host is confronted by the worker and we were set at a table right away and did not get silverware or drinks until 15 minutes later when we were greeted by our waitress. Our waitress was Daniella and she was seriously the most unfriendly and bitchy worker ever. We placed our order and I asked her how many topping am I able to put on and she says all of them if you want so I go ahead and we practically put every topping on our pizza, under the impression it was all free... We waited an hour for our pizza and our waitress never once filled up our water or asked us if we needed an appetizer while waiting. She finally tells us our pizza is almost ready after waiting over 50 minutes and then it did not come out for another 15...We get the pizza served to us and as we are eating I noticed how our waitress was not even being kind enough to ask us how our meal is and instead she stared at us from behind and walked a few steps then turned around and walked away again. When we got the check I saw that our 18 dollar pizza came out to 27$, and that was when I learned the toppings were EXTRA. I confronted a different waiter who was kind enough to ask how we were doing and he told us that every topping wasn't free and he goes to the back to tell our waitress she made a mistake but not telling us and we saw her flip her arms up in the air and stare at us. The waiter comes back to us and apologizes for HER mistake and my check isn't even changed. She did not have the dignity to apologize to our faces nor tell us anything after that. She was the worst waitress ever, I had no price change, and I am never coming back here nor telling any of my friends to go. BTW we heard the people next to us complain how they had to also ask Daniella for the check 3 different times and said how it still took her 40 minutes to bring it out.

UPDATE: I was given a gift certificate in compensation for the bad delivery. Thanks for your caring and assistance, Jay! Most of the time it's a fantastic pizza...possibly the best in the city. I have, however, gotten an abysmal delivery in which the pizza was all sloshed over to the side and the toppings were stuck to the top. I was not given anything in compensation for this error and I thought it was VERY un classy and almost unforgivable. I only continue to patronize this establishment on Hayes because every other experience has been great.

...HERE's AN UPDATE: , I picked up my deep dish pizza today and it was sitting in the box all steamed up and soggy. I wish they would leave it in the warmer and box it later. I paid for a soggy pizza...they are so inconsistent with the service. I hope they start thinking of their customers if they want them back. PREVIOUS REVIEW. I love their deep dish. The first two pizza I ordered was fine. The dough is just right, with a subtle flakiness and a touch of buttery taste that makes you want to forget about the carbs. The tomato ragu sauce is a tad tangy for my taste if they used a different brand of tomato paste (that comes from San Marzano) their Sauce will be perfection and 5 stars. But what I love is the crisp bottom of the pizza dough. I was wondering if I was just lucky that I came in time to pick it up and came fresh from the oven.

First off, if you don't know the difference between New York and Chicago style pizza, stop reading now. Secondly, if your idea of pizza can be purchased at Costco or Safeway frozen sections, you may also stop reading. Thirdly, if California pizza kitchen pizza is just a little too doughy for you, get the f@#! outta here. Still here? Well ok then... Paxti's is the best Chicago deep dish style pizza I've had in California, and ok, to be totally honest, the best Spinach deep dish pizza I've ever had. I stand by that claim having eaten a lot of Chicago pizza. I've eaten at Zachary's in Oakland - not bad, but compared to the spinach deep dish we got at Paxti's, Zachs was akin to sawdust and paste sprinkled with ketchup and green stuff. Here's where Paxti's goes right - the spinach is buttery and flavorful and not soggy at all, the cheese does that Chicago style looooooooong extension thing where you can carry the mozarella across the table, down the hall, swallow it and it still keeps going. Which admittedly could make you gag, if you didn't know that THAT'S FREAKING AWESOME. The sauce was tasty, tangy and not too much of it, and the crust... oh my. See the truth is I actually LOVE thin crust pizza, but a properly done thick crust pizza isn't doughy or bready or too much - its crisp and corn mealed and holds its own for the dense toppings and is only bready at the edges. Which I pick off and save for my sweetie who is from Chicago and likes to eat big hunks of pizza bones. But I digress. My point is, their spinach deep dish is a masterpiece. But having read some of the reviews, I can see where you may go wrong unless you order right. Mainly - Eat at home. Get takeout, tell them to HALF BAKE it, and DON'T CUT IT, order the spinach deep dish with onion and a little extra sauce. In fact, we ordered it, picked it up for later in the evening and then cooked it. The reason why? Deep dish pizza takes forever to cook and that's just the way it is. Don't fret, don't fuss, work with reality and make it your b!tch. Also, the thin crust is ok, not super crazy fantastic, but definitely good. The Sausage is VERY tasty - it actually tasted like real sausage, not like lame california no-taste sausage. Which undoubtedly means its pork. That's it, eat more of this, yummy. Still searching for really good New York style thin crust pizza.

i'm from chicago and have had my fair share of deep dish pizza. the deep dish from is pretty good (reminds me of lou malnati's). but i have to say, i won't be going back after the service i (and the waitstaff) got from management. apparently they stole from both me and the waiters! sfgate.com/business/arti… . not going back now!

Praise for Patxi's Okay, so I know everyone loves Little Star---don't get me wrong I like them too---but I really love Patxi's. . . maybe it's the sauce, or the gooey cheese, the amazing crust or the fact that it's up the street from my house. I don't know, but everytime I order Patxi's I feel warm inside! My favorite is the sausage, mushroom and black olive pizza. It's sooo goood. As I walk home from Patxi's, carrying about 2 pounds worth of cheese in my arms (and that's only their small pizza) I can barely make it to my front door without opening up the box, ripping off some of that crust and inhaling it. . . that crust, it's oh so buttery. Indulge one night and pick up a Patxi's---it's perfect!

We loved patxis right after the sous chef left Zachary's in Albany to open this place . Initally excellent and my wife and I were happy we didn't need to go across the bridge to get this great deep dish creation . But alas around 2011 it got to popular and in my opinion greed in the form of opening multiple locations set in . They couldn't handle the demand as it was . I heard this and it hit the mark for Patxis - "NOTHING KILLS a BUSINESS FASTER THAN BEING Ill PREPARED for SUCCESS"--and thats whats happening here We literally ordered on 4 consecutive occasions and 1 at the Fillmore /Lombard loc. and EVERY one of the 5 pick ups we tried to get were thwarted by , "we can't find your Pizza" or. " it's not the right pie it has the wrong toppings" , or " I think we sent it out for delivery " I mean it was unbelievable . So we waited 3-4 mos. to see if it changed , nope they lost the pie at nights end on Hayes st loc. and said we can make only a cheese as kitchen is closed . We vowed NEVER to go back ?Well being forgetful and hopeful we tried again tonight far over a year later . Ana took our order on the phone and even said not to hang up Til the order was accepted by the computer . Done ! My god it might have been under better management . I double park outside as my wife goes in ,seconds turn to minutes , minutes to ......etc . Then the text comes from the wife - pizza is lost or at unknown location ? After watching a delivery guy juggle 5 pies outside as no driver would allow him in thier car he passed me 4 times trying , I know I asked why he was going back and forth on foot he told me . Those pies were definitely now cold . I get into the store and there's the wife and the most chaotic scenario in the open kitchen the likes of which reminded me of my days in college at a pizza joint up in Chico , but in patxis it was just frenetically and clearly not organized because I know the way a place should run. Ana said pie - nowhere - offer - make new at another hour of wait , I explained this was strike 6 and ptacis was out , gimme my cash back and the end of our masochistic dealings with this place which is dying as they are a victim if thier own now withering success. And thier inability to hire a pro manager to fix it will be thier tragic flaw . Sorry pat cheese , I'm staying with little star and big consistency

I've been eagerly waiting for something to open in what was formerly Powell's place, and finally Patxi's has arrived. Pronounced pah-cheese, the set-up reminds me of one of those pizza parlors you may have frequented as a youth. Nothing fancy, open kitchen, just a cusual setting. We went fairly early this past Sunday, around 6pm, so got a table right away (when we left at 7:30, there was a line out the door). There is not much in the way of choices here, no appetizers, only salads, but I guess the real draw is the pizza. We opted for the deep dish - they offer thinner options too - and after about 25 minutes (they mention the prep time on the menu) our pie arrived. Everything was really fresh, the crust was really flaky and golden too. I agree, it's not Little Star, but I do think Patxi's is a viable neighborhood option and certainly is a much needed addition to the Hayes Valley neighborhood. Just be prepared to wait as the word gets out.

definitely not as good as little star or zachary's, but being able to buy deep dish pizza by the slice is a plus!! their deep dish spinach and pesto is good, but the crust is not as thick as that of little star or zach's. their thin slices are actually pretty good and have a nice crackery crust.

Paxti, Paxti, Paxti. Darling. Take a deep breath because you're probably not going to like what I have to say. But first: 4 stars for the pizza! Yum all around -- that's been pretty well established here. I had the Calfornian - thinner WHEAT crust, low fat mozzarella, spinach, delish! Reheated nicely the next day, too. However, I thought the place was pretty poorly designed, and I offer my suggestions: Get rid of the dividing wall that creates the channel on the east side of the restaurant. What purpose does it serve? Do you really count on that much "pick up" business that you need a dedicated channel for those customers? No, I say. I know you spent money putting it in. Admit it was wrong, eat the cost, knock it out, expand the dining room, add more tables. Make the center walkway from the front door to the ordering take out/paying counter just a little wider. Which brings me to point 2. There is no host podium. You walk in. You are amongst tables. You wander to the back where a cash register shares space on the counter where servers pick up food to deliver to tables. You eventually give your name. You see many more people gather at the door, wondering what to do, what to do. They fill up that weird channel created by the aforementioned wall. HELLLLLOOOOO????? It would help to place benches outside and inside under the windows for waiting customers. And get rid of that dang superfluous wall! Adopt a better system for the waiting list (on Saturday night with 25 people waiting, I saw a 4/5/6 top remain empty for 20 minutes because the host had taken the names of a party of 5 who she told to be back , and they went shopping on Hayes Street and showed up late, but she held the table for them!). Though I would appreciate that if I were that customer (which I wouldn't be, because I'm not that rude), if I were the business owner I would think, "Hmmmmm, a potential 6 top empty for 20 minutes times how many pounds of flour in a sack divided by the cost of a pizza oven, shoot, I might be able to make this work better! AND please the customer." As I said, we in the neighborhood are happy to have you, and we hope you are with us long. We'll definitely be back, but I'll be the one standing in that channel crying, Why, WHY???

I'm still stuffed from the last time I ate at Patxi's. Six weeks ago.

How come the Hawaiian pizza had more onions than it did pineapples? Made me sad :( Especially after the long wait. And the croutons in my Caesar salad weren't crunchy, kind of stale.
(2)Jessica P.
I can lift weights with those slices. Great the next day too. Seriously, at first I thought waiting 45 minutes for a pizza was absurd, but the wait produced a little taste of cheese heaven. I wish service could've been faster, I guess they're still relatively new. Not the best atmosphere, but clean and friendly. Simple menu and great staff. An interesting little gathering place in Hayes Valley. Not pretentious.

I planned an appreciation lunch for several staff members. I called Patxi's at 10am to order and was on hold for more that 11 minutes so I decided to order online. I placed my order by 10:15 for a 12noon delivery. I received a confirmation email stating that my order was received and accepted and the delivery time was 12noon. I get a call at 11:20am from a Patxi's representative informing of a delay and that the Pizza would not arrived until after 12:30 pm. I called and experienced several delays again and was finally transfer to Brian but we had a bad connection so I had to hand-up and call back. I called back waited on hold again, then Jennifer answered the phone to transfer me to Brian again. I explained my situation and ask if any exceptions can be made for rushing my order. He responded at this point well the only time he could guarantee is 1pm we only have 1 oven and we have been swamped all morning with deliveries and was complaining more about staff problems and issues with the internet ordering system than trying to help me reach a solution. He then went on the talk about I've been a customer before and I worked in the business for 22 years. At this point I felt insulted. As the customer I just want my food for an event in a timely manner. I don't need to hear about your customer experiences from the past because it has nothing to do with my current situation. I told Brian at that point I request that you cancel my order and give me contact information for who he reports to. He told me was the General Manager and he didn't report to any body. Ok. I advised him that I was a very dissatisfied customer and I don't see ordering from this location anytime soon. Rather than try to help me, he did nothing at all to ensure me that he would try his best to either getting the pizzas in the oven quickly so I could drive to pick them up and he definitely did not attempt to reschedule the drivers delivery plan deliver the pizzas first. So I had a room full of hungry people expecting pizza from Patxi's that I had to inform of the horrible experience that I had and that I would be ordering from another pizza place. I was able to call Extreme and they really came through delivering a rush order for the event. Thanks Extreme. Brian the General Manager was rude, and lack empathy toward my situation. He also minimized my concerns and spoke over me to explain examples from his past that had nothing to do with the current situation. Why do I need to know about a party of 75 that he put together that had issues with food delivery as well, why do I need to know if you have worked 22 years in the industry--especially if I haven't asked you. I recommend that Patxi's checks into the phone lines because I had a bad connection calling from my cell phone and office line. I also recommend checking into issues with the online ordering. Brian hinted they have no control over when an order prints out or the online feature does let customers know if the Patxi's location is experience staffing shortages or one oven as Brian let me know twice. Please beware of the all of the issues before you order. I know all experiences will not be the same as my situation but if you have to deal with the General Manager you may be victim to a bad customer service experience.

Despite the excruciatingly long wait, the pizza was amazing! I had never experienced Chicago style pizza prior to trying Patxi's and I'm glad I did. Their deep dish pizzas are really filling (a 10" should suffice for two people). Overall, great food, great staff, but long wait. Would not recommend for any impatient folks out there.
(4)Eric A.
One of best deep dish pizza's I've ever had! Excellent. We got a 14" deep dish Greek pizza. It took about 30 minutes for it to cook up, but was well worth the wait. Their tomato sauce is on point, and the crust... perfect.
(4)Reeef S.
Came in here last night thinking I would be seated right away since there were a few empty seats but no it was an hour wait. So we Walked around the neighbor hood. When we got back 50 minutes later, went in and they were getting our table ready. (Didn't know we had to pre order or pizza) we had to wait probably another 45-50 minutes to get our pizza. But I have to say it was probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had... Maybe next time I'll have it delivered.
(4)sercio c.
So hands down possibly one of the best pizzas in the city but no one should eat at 10:50 when you placed an order at 8:40 for pick up. You think those kind of things only happen on kitchen nightmare or restaurant impossible but it happened to me twice. I don't know if it's there ordering process or what but it was a horrible experience.
(2)Michaela L.
Pizza and salads delivered for our meeting. Good deep dish and delicious salads. Not the best I ever had and a little too pricey. The sauce was chunky and the toppings good, so it was a satisfying, but underwhelming meal.

Deep dish pizza is great!! Fresh salad

Great place to eat! Hell yea man. Quick service the staff was very friendly. I mean the freaking server actually served us our first slice and was quick to give our table refills. She was pretty attentive. The restaurant was extremely clean. I recommend the Matt Cain!
(5)Carleen W.
came here a few times and i love. first time i got the thin crust, last time i got the deep dish. BOTH were really good! nice beer selection and some wines. i highly recommend the arugula salad too. i recently went to Little Star and i honestly didn't care for it much. Patxi's gave me a much more homely feel. can i also just say the service is excellent? i loved our server, Kyle(?) he serves pizza slices amazingly! space is kind of small, so expect a little wait.

I can't help but feel pressure as the local gal to show the out-of-town'ers a good time when they visit. My friends knew they wanted to go to the Biergarten in Hayes Valley on a lovely Saturday night but I could've sworn they closed at 10. Nope 9 pm, but we milked every minute we could out of the place. So just after 10 pm, what options did we have? In HV, there are plenty of bars but they're all on the mature, low-key side which is usually fine for me but not when I'm with 20-somethings. The group was still hungry since you can hardly put a meal together at Biergarten. Even Suppenkuche closed at 10. Patxi's closes at 10:30 so some of us walked over hoping they'd seat 11 of us. First gal we asked at the register shook her head and didn't even consider it. As we walked out, the waiter said he could try to seat us, maybe splitting the group up since there were still plenty of occupied tables. Eventually, they asked a small group if they could move from the table at the front window so we could all sit together. We were so grateful. As the table was being set up, the manager took our order outside with a tablet so they could get started on the pizzas. We ended up ordering 2 thin crusts (salsiccia and prosciutto/arugula), 1 Favorite deep dish, and more beer. As much as I eat pizza, I only eat deep dish like once a year and Patxi's isn't my favorite compared to the other SF deep dish place but it is still very tasty. I really did prefer the thin crust so will be back for that. Service was impeccable and we sat at Patxi's til the bright lights came on. We left with half a deep dish pizza and loitered at Patricia's Green. About 5 minutes later, people were eating the leftovers. I couldn't help but notice the pizzas could be eaten with one hand- stable crust with no cheese or toppings slipping. Again, super thankful the restaurant was able to accommodate us that night.

I'm not really a big fan of pizza, but I've always heard a lot about this place. There was a 30-45 minute wait before we could even get seated. Not a problem, since we wanted to try the bread pudding place down the street that was featured on Diners Drives inns and Dives. Bread pudding was a total fail so we decided to grab a few drinks as we waited. The person next to us waiting suggested we place our order so that way, by the time we get seated.... OUR PIZZA WOULD BE READY!!!! Wish someone informed us sooner, because we ended up waiting another 45 minutes til our pizza was served. But beforehand we got a salad, which we devoured in less than 5 minutes. I believe it was the bacon crumble? I could be wrong. We ordered the Matt Cain and it was the absolute BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER EVER EVER EVER TRIED! I've never really tried chicago style pizza but boy have I been missing out. It has just the perfect amount of cheese, tomato sauce, sausage. Oh lord my mouth is watering as I type this review. I believe we got the 10 inch and only had two slices each. I think it came with 8? If we were high we probably would have eaten it ALL. Jk haha Although the wait was over an hour and a half. It was worth every second we waited and every penny my boyfriend spent that night :)
(5)Tyler B.
I love the pizza here! Especially the BBQ Chix deep dish one. I usually get it delivered, but the one time i went in to eat there a waiter named Willie really took care of us and we had a great time. Thanks Patxi's!
(5)Matt M.
Felt ambitious and tried delivery one more time. Still using outsourced centralized service, but food actually arrived as estimated! Hope this is a pattern. Will try again and hope they've figured out their online ordering issues.
(4)Dylan O.
Order a pizza take 2 hours to delivery ... Send me a wrong pizza after q call they fixed . not recommend
(2)Kevin F.
Great pesto pizza! Very cool staff. Make sure you place your order, leave your cell number, walk around and shop! They'll text you when a table opens up. We waited an hour. No reservations!
(5)Elaine N.
Ugh, I just ate too much pizza and now I feel like shit... Oh, Pah-cheese. This dates back to the ol' dinner guy, almost a year ago. While I was trying to decide which shoes to wear, everyone was hatin' on me because nobody thought pizza would make a good date. Pish posh! We came here and found that it was crowded like there was no tomorrow. "40 minute wait," they said, which always approximates to 2 hours. He suggested we go to Amici's in North Beach instead. Well, I found a Paxti's in North Beach! Hurray! It was not all that crowded, and I had inquired about the lower Yelp rating compared to the Hayes Valley location. We had Caesar (which was absolutely delicious) and I can't remember what type of pizza. I do remember not being impressed, so I strayed for awhile. Since this is the only decent place that provides delivery to the Financial District, I've returned-- and boy, has it made a comeback. Paxti's Pan Pizza is THE way to go! There's a crunchy cornmeal crust that's almost comparable to Little Star's and has the right amount of sodium. It gets a little soggy, but still makes for great leftovers after being left out for half the day. The Chicago "Stuffed" is terrible. The first bite had memories flooding back to me of what caused my initial dissatisfaction (here, I thought it was my date that left the sour taste in my mouth). This was delivered to me today after I asked for "cornmeal crust". Sighs. Okay, it's not as terrible as Pizza Hut, but loses to Domino's by a fair amount. There's a different kind of cheese (I think), or cheese overkill. I couldn't taste the toppings as well, and the bottom layer of crust was soggy and tastes like cardboard. Paxti's is still great, just ignore the stuffed crust and you'll be okay (: Their delivery is also very consistent (50 minutes-1 hour), so call over if you're feeling like a hungry caged bunny! Did I mention they even deliver pizza at 11am?!?

I had the worst experience ever at any restaurant....but I have to admit the food is pretty damn good. Last night, 6 of us stopped by on a recommendation from a friend. I added my name to the reservation with the host. We didn't mind the 1 hour wait because of the strong recommendation we got from our friend. The place is pretty small and intimate. no place for us to wait around. the host was nice enough to suggest a bar across the street. he recommend we come back in 30 mins to place our order so it is done by the time our table is ready. we place our order & we go across the street. when its about time for our order to be ready I ask about our table.... this is when things go bad. Host gets manager - I get this lecture from her about tipping her wait staff before even sitting down?? really?? does every customer get this pow wow? I saved my friends from this comment, I was wit the manager by my self. I didn't say anything to my friends in order to save the night as much as possible. I can speculate why she did this but that will just drive me crazy. We get our table. it weird. but oh well, let move on. we all get menus. waitress brings our order. I ask for water and a Stella draft. She says our table cant order alcohol because one of my guest said about himself "i are drunk." ...I was floored by this. I had to ask again to make sure I heard her right. I ask her to bring the person on staff this comment was to and to confirm the person in my party? while this is going on. I asked the table, just to make crystal clear a comment could had been heard by mistake or something. this was just odd. waitress or manager comes back and makes it even worse by saying she would consider serving alcohol after we "eat a slice of our food." WOW!!! .....this was just getting really stupid. I asked he to go away, we will have our pizza with water instead. waitress comes back, apologizes and offered to refund the cost of half our order. pays us with cash. Before leaving I spoke to a the assistant manager. I dont think he new everything going on in the restaurant. He tried his best to apologize and make things better but the damage & experience was done. hopefully it was just a fluke and they are usually on top of their game. ps. I only drank half a beer from across the street bar. everyone else had time to finish their beer before sitting down.

Only ever had delivery, the no charge thing on orders over 25$ is nice. Always get a deep dish of some kind with a salad to share with the bf. Everything is always delicious, delivery people always nice. Beats out any pizza nearby.
(5)Hunter F.
Charged me $70 for a $25 dollar pizza. Called the Manager and took 3 days to call me back. Was just visiting SF at the time. They returned the money and gave me a @25 gift card but just being honest, the pizza is not that good. Over priced. Bad (lazy) in store service. Pizza took an hour to get to our table (deep dish)
(1)N. B.
Updating to add one more star for customer service because they ended up sending me a gift card to try them out again in the future. Will update once I try a hopefully hot pizza!
(2)Rida B.
Really good pizza! It almost beat giordano's and gino's. The place is kinda small and crammed but the food makes up for it. On top of that, friendly staff. Loved this place!
(5)Mei F.
My usual is a deep dish, Mushroom, Broccoli, and Garlic pizza, and it is sooo good. I get heavy on the Garlic every time, and it's delicious. They bake it in their oven for the perfect amount of time, and it's better than Little Star because they actually have my favorite veggies. It takes about a good half an hour to get your order, so sitting and getting a glass of wine to enjoy makes it just right. I also recommend ordering in, just call ahead with your order.
(4)charlotte c.
Service was good. Pizza was good. I was especially pleased with their dough - not too crunchy and sort of sweet. It wasn't delivered to our table at a temperature too high for immediate consumption, which is always appreciated.

this is really a three and a half star review. let me get this out of the way. i was born in chicago. i spent the first eighteen years of my life in chicago. for the first eighteen years of my life my favorite food was (and still is) deep dish pizza. i know that all the east coasters will say that it is not 'pizza'. stick it east coasters. this is the ONLY pizza as far as i am concerned. i take my chicago roots very seriously when it comes to food because i have gone on the record as to say that i think that chicago is the greatest food city in the country. yea i said it. so when a business slaps "chicago" on the name of their store, or product-you better believe that i am going to take that to heart. as far as chicago style deep dish pizza goes-this stuff is okay. it is not anywhere near the best deep dish pizza i have had-but i wasnt expecting it to. it is good, not great. i order the special, which for all you chicago pizza newbs is the STANDARD when it comes to chicago style pizza- saasage, mushrooms, onion and peppaz. the only way to eat a deep dish pie. the dough is tasty and has a good crisp to it. the sauce is good. the toppings are good. however the sausage was not as patty like as i would prefer. the cheese is good-melty and gooey and tasty. nothing really blew me away, but i blame that mostly on the fact that i am used to real chicago style deep dish-pizzas that have been made in the same oven, with the same methods, for generations. in the end, however, paxti's is worthy of stamping the name of the windy city on their product. it is, at its heart, a chicago style pie. i have been told to try little star or zacharys. i really want to, but it seems like all these chicago pizza places that are located thousands of miles away from the mecca always let me down. i guess ill just have to continue to order my upside down pizzas from lou malnatis to go.
(3)Vera D.
** Update to my review: I do love Paxti's for their garden salad with ranch; it's crisp and fresh without being overdone with dressing, which is rare for other neighboring restaurants to do. It's a good take-out lunch for those on the go. San Franciscans -- skip Paxti's and head over to the East Bay for Zachary's if you're in the mood for Chicago Style Pizza. I was recently on a flight to Chicago and the magazine rated the best pizzerias across the United States, naming Zachary's one of the best next to Uno's of Chicago. No place beats Zachary's in Northern California. The crust is amazing, and the sausage + pepperoni stuffed pizza is fabulous. It's no wonder I used to drive from Davis, CA to Berkeley before I moved to Piedmont.

Some of the best I have had in a long time. Great for a cheat day on your diet!!
(5)Alex L.
I had a Chicago style deep dish with sausage, mushroom and zucchini. It was soooo good. Their ingredients taste super fresh and their crust is delicate. I don't know what else to say but YUM!
(5)Steve S.
This pizza is dangerously great. It lures me into the restaurant or on the phone for delivery far too often. I went to graduate school in Chicago years ago and despaired of every finding decent Chicago style pizza in San Francisco. Patxi's has been a God-send. Amazingly, their thin crust is great too. The classic meat Chicago style pizza may be the single greatest weapon in the global struggle against vegetarianism! :D
(5)Nicole V.
I'll preface this by saying I've never actually had Chicago deep dish before Paxti's. It's a delicious pizza I can't seem to forget, anytime I'm in the area I make it a priority to get what feels like a 10 lb. pizza. I've ordered through GrubHub to get delivery to my hotel and the wait time said 2:30 hours but it arrived less than an hour. But I'd be willing (and even happy) to wait over 2 hours to take a bite of deliciousness. Also worth noting is their artichoke dip and antipasto plate.
(5)Paul C.
This is one of the best pizza places I have been to in all of San Francisco. I'm a big fan of Chicago deep dish and this place is spot on with their toppings, sauce, and customer service. Now I have heard that their competitor in the Western Addition is better, but I've haven't been there. If you're looking for good Chicago style deep dish in a place with a great atmosphere, Patxi's is the place. I recommended you get a pepperoni and sausage pizza, it's my favorite.
(4)Don V.
Ate here once and it was good. A nice place to hang out with some friends while waiting on the pizza. Overall the pizza was pretty good. I would go again.
(4)Jerry S.
I dont know if this is authentic deep dish, but its darn good.
(4)Sarcastic T.
Mmmm... you know, since we left the Midwest we've been looking for that perfect pizza. Patxi's comes very, very close! Yeah! We actually ate inside - service was great and prices are decent. Looks like they delivery now and that makes me an even bigger fan!
(4)Dale T.
We ended up here by accident... But it was a good accident... Staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The place was spotless (didn't check the bathrooms though). We had a 20 minute wait and pre-ordered the pizza which worked out great. The deep Dish pizza can take up to 40 minutes to cook.. so plan ahead. Started with the Greek Salad! I agree with Jen L... it truly was aweful. It is NOT a greek salad.... had maybe 15 lettuce leaves on it... 7 kalamata olives. and the rest was red peppers and onions. BAD! So I was nervous about the pizza... but the deep dish pizza was GREAT! The sauce was good and the crust was also very tasty... A friend at our table got the Caesar salad and it looked really good.. just steer clear of the greek salad.. Try the deep dish pizza though... it really was good!
(4)Aron L.
Got a pizza here the other day with a friend. I generally like deep dish pizzas and this place was pretty good. We got the sausage and mushroom (My choice. Ordering sausage and mushroom is like breathing. Automatic.) The best pizza in San Francisco, in my mind, to date, is still Little Star Pizza so everything else pales before it. So, Patxi's gets a four star and a well-earned four star. Definitely would recommend if you're in the neighborhood.
(4)Ken G.
A really good Chicago-style pizza spot. It was nice to come back after 4 years...I recently had 2 of their pies: BBQ Chicken - This one was just okay. You definitely get a lot of flavor from the marinara sauce and jalapenos, but the chicken was completely unseasoned and I barely tasted any BBQ sauce. They did add a good amount of cheese so it still had a hearty feel that you would expect from a Chicago-style pizza, but the unseasoned chicken was a bit unappealing, honestly. Build-Your-Own (Sausage, Pepperoni, Green Peppers) - A really great pizza! A flavorful and hearty pizza with a ton of flavor. Since this arrived with seasoned meat (sausage, pepperoni) it was perfect with the full flavors from the zesty marinara sauce, the fresh green peppers and indulgent cheese. The thick crust was cooked perfectly and was exactly what was needed to hold up to all the flavors from the pizza. I'd recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys pizza, but I'd stay away from the chicken varieties and go for the seasoned meats (sausage, ham, pepperoni, hamburger/ground beef) or go with the vegetarian option.
(4)Savier M.
If only I knew about waiting the way I do now. My umpteenth trip to SF has enlightened me that my approach to eating here is incorrect. A) I shouldn't walk into a restaurant starving. B) I shouldn't expect a waiting area. C) There's only enough tables for ten parties of 3 in every restaurant. I have to take these factors into consideration when wandering the Hayes area. My visit with the fambam was a total SF nightmare. We were fucked up from the night before, had gone drinking again, and we were quite ravenous. The wait was a supposed 45 min to an hour and they offered to put our order through as we waited to be seated. We waited, and waited, and waited, and waited some more with the vision of a pizza as our only comfort. At the turn of the century we got seated and munched like monsters on our super flavorful pizza and arugula salad (with bacon fyi). The pizza sauce is touch more plain than Zachary's fare so don't come expecting it. I can't put a finger on it but there was a spiciness missing in the sausage meat. So yeah, it has a Zachary's wait and pizza with different tastes. Use the hour long line to readjust your expectations.
(4)Can C.
I had my first Chicago-style deep dish pizza at Zachary's in Berkeley, so my standards for deep dish are pretty high. In all the time I've been in the city, I had yet to try deep dish ... until yesterday! My boyfriend and I originally stopped by Little Star, but we weren't up for the 2-hour wait, so we came here instead. Only a 10-minute wait for our table! Granted, it was pretty late when we got there (around 8:45), but it was a huge difference from 2 hours. Our host recommended that we order ahead of time, so we did just that! We got the 10" Chicago-style "Special" pizza, which has garlic-fennel sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, and yellow onions. Ahhhhh it was so delicious! They were not skimpy with the toppings at all, and the crust was perfectly crispy on the outside with a slightly doughy inside. Tip: my boyfriend was fascinated that there was honey at the table, so he tore off a part of his crust and squeezed some honey on top. It was so good! So the crust serves as a biscuit as well. I was absolutely stuffed after 2.5 slices ... I was actually full after one slice, but I couldn't resist eating more. Our service was awesome! I really liked our server. He continually filled our water glasses and he was very friendly. He even put the root beer my boyfriend ordered on the house! That earned him a nice tip. :) I really like this place! Plan on coming back. Oh, and a small plug: Smitten is right across the way, and it's open until 10:30, so you can do what I did and head over there for dessert afterwards!
(4)Dorothy N.
The manager contacted me shortly after this review to apologize, and give me a gift card to give them another chance. This is excellent service: following up with a customer and trying to make up for their mistake.
(3)Jessica A.
Ate here with my fiance for the first time last weekend - Kyle was our server and we will definitely go back! Upon walking in the hostess was super friendly and seated me right away, even though my fiance was still parking. Kyle gave great suggestions on what to order - we went with a 14" thin crust, half Spinacini Nuovi and half Bianco Verde. The Bianco Verde was so amazing that I never tried the other half; my fiance felt the same way about the Spinacini Nuovi! Delicious! The place has a great neighborhood vibe, the service was genuinely friendly and efficient, and the food was great. We'll definitely look forward to returning. One caveat: If you're moderate eaters and there's only two of you, you probably don't need the 14" pizza.
(5)Zac E.
I have always enjoyed PAtxi's and have been a patron several times. It's the closest thing out here to Chicago Style pizza without flying to chicago. My last experience was the best yet! My friend and I ordered a pizza for delivery.Unforutnately when it arrived it was not what we ordered. I made a quick phone call to Patxi's and the manager asked if we would be ok with eating that pizza or he could have another one out there in an hour. We agreed to eat the pizza we had. Justin (sorry for the wrong name:), the manager cancelled the charge on my credit card and sent me a gift card for my next order. I didn't even ask for anything. It's rare these days to find such great customer service and definitely plan on visiting again. thanks!
(5)D H.
Very tasty pizza, you must be patient however, as the pies take a long while to bake!
(4)Jen I.
I went vegan and said goodbye to deep dish forever. It was a teary event but I never looked back. Until I heard the vegan cry for deep dish and Paxti's accomodated with switching from their non-vegan soy cheese to Daiya, a fakey cheese that magically melts without scorching temperatures! (Yes I'm looking at you Follow Your Heart) I still struggle sometimes as I went vegan to become healthier and giving up meat, eggs & dairy ensured I would not be face first in a deep dish on any given night but it's awesome that places like Paxti's is recognizing there is a community out there looking for options. A lil fakey cheesy goodness won't hurt if I make sure it isn't a weekly indulgence. Thanks Paxti's for recognizing that vegans may like salads, but have a need to be decadent as well. FYI, if you order for delivery, they're very nice but a deep dish will take you over an hour on a weekend night. I also recommend you call before you order to make sure they have Daiya. This past Friday we ordered and they called back to say they had run out.
(5)Cassandra J.
I'm really torn as to whether I prefer New York thin crust versus Chicago deep dish. Both are amazing and are different in so many ways, despite being pizza! I do have a soft spot for deep dish stuffed pizza though, and for the SF area, Patxi's is by far my favourite. In the restaurant itself you can order a slice or a pie, along with organic soda pops. I love going for a slice and a drink for lunch when I'm in the Hayes Valley area (or is it Lower Haight? I'm not sure). Much to my consternation, they started doing delivery which means I can get a beautiful stuffed pizza delivered to my door. Eek! These pizzas are so thick and heavy, a medium for one person will last you three meals (unless you're a bottomless pit). I recommend a fork and knife to get through most of a slice. And for heaven's sake, get these to share with friends, eating an entire Patxi's pizza will put you in an early grave due to sheer volume of stuff in it! I have yet to be disappointed by Patxi's and barring going back to Chicago for an authentic stuffed pizza (I've never made one as good as a restaurant has). Highly recommend for a quick lunch, dinner or midnight pizza during a party! You can't go wrong. Well actually, I wouldn't get it for a party as they're pretty expensive for such a small pizza (plus I would hate to share it with others... GIMMEE)
(5)Lisa B.
Meh, it was ok. Service was slow (about 20 minutes for a slice of pizza at 2PM on a Sunday) and not enthusiastic. Cheese pizza was ok. I have to call out though the slice was $3.23 or something with tax. I don't know if you can get a cheaper lunch in the area.
(3)Anna P.
Updating since I have to admit that I really enjoy a Chicago style deep dish pizza with a cornbread crust. You don't see it very often but I love it. Try the Favorite (pepperoni, olives, mushrooms). It's simplistic but filled with flavors inside and out!
(5)Miss W.
Vegans beware! There was BACON on my VEGAN pizza! I took one bite and could taste smoke, so I asked the server who checked with the kitchen and confirmed it was meat. (I'd never tasted bacon before. My family never ate pork.) It was a traumatic dining experience to say the least. ;_; I really can't understand how a mistake like that is possible. I know some ppl love bacon--I saw that guy marry bacon in a tv commercial--but not vegans!! The server was extremely apologetic and kind, comped our meal etc., which is my I didn't give them one star. I usually go to the Inner Sunset Paxti's and have never had a problem. In fact, their pizza is delicious! Go there instead!
(2)Lorie N.
We waited about 45 minutes for our pizza which we divided into half combo (meat) and half chicken something.. Can you say cheeeeeese?? Yes, this was all about that stringy melted mozarella that brings you back to the days of Bubbalicious bubble gum that you proudly popped out of your mouth so that you could stretch it between your two hands until it looked like you could almost start jump roping. Okay, okay.. I might be exaggerating, just a little. Seriously, I loved every bite of this steamy messy cheesy pizza.
(5)Gary S.
Great deep dish pizza. If you have to wait for a table, pre-order since the deep dish takes about 35 minutes. Server was very friendly and when you check-in on Yelp you get $1.00 PBR.
(5)J N.
Best Deep dish Chicago pizza for sure, great ambience, best service ,best ingredients!!my new favorite place for get pizza now!
(5)Marcin M.
Decent Chicago-style deep dish pizza. It's no Zachary's, but it does beat having to head over to the East Bay if you're hungry in San Francisco. Our pizza was loaded with cheese. The sauce was slightly less sweet than one would find in Chicago. The crust was good. It took a while for our pizza to come out. We pre-ordered while we waited for a table, but once we were seated about 30+ minutes later, there was still a decent wait. Service was decent. Not spectacular, but not horrible either.

We settled on Patxi's because the line for Stacks was too long, but we were pleasantly surprised. At 11:30 AM on Sunday, the restaurant was basically empty, and we were able to seat our party of fifteen without any problem. The tables, decor, and air provided a fresh atmosphere that is sometimes absent from pizza parlors. Our spinach and pesto with chicken deep dish was solid. The sauce and cheese quantities were in harmony and did not overwhelm each other. There were plentiful amounts of both chicken and spinach, which seemed fresh. However, the crust was harder than necessary, making it difficult to cut with a knife and a workout for the jaws. Despite the room for improvement in the crust, the pizza experience and service at Patxi's were still satisfying, and I would be willing to give it another try.

Their gluten free pizza is so tasty. You can't tell it is gluten free :)
(5)A. R.
Patxi's is the Jessica Simpson of deep dish. It's alright but it's no Little Star or Zachary's; just like Jessica is no Britney or Christina. They do have a good crust though, buttery and flaky.

So Patxi's just happen to catch me on a good day. I could have given them 4, but I'll explain. Had a Patxi's Groupon for a few months, and when I realized it was 6:45 and had nothing in the fridge (nothing that could be made within the hour , that is) I decided to go for some Chicago-style pizza. Now, I've had deep dish before and it's great, but not what I was looking for today. I ended up calling in an order for takeout: 14-inch extra thin crust pizza with extra artichoke hearts. Yum! Called around 6:45 and said I'd be there at 8pm to pick it up. I show up at 7:45 (didn't realize traffic and parking was going to be so forgiving) and the pizza wasn't ready. No problem, I'll come back at 8. So I come back at 8, and the person helping me says "just a few more minutes because the dough is still a bit underdone." As he says that, I see a guy spreading artichoke hearts all over a freshly prepared pizza, which I'm assuming was mine and it hadn't even gone into the oven yet. Luckily I was out of there soon after, and with a delicious addition to my waistline in a perfectly packed box. Service was good, the crowd is young, making the whole place refreshing and fast-paced.

I am not a native Chicagoan nor do I claim to be. But I did live there for 3 years while in law school and I hate a lot of deep dish pizza especially during finals. This pizza is legit! Definitely authentic deep dish pizza. My favorite is the pepperoni with garlic pizza. There are several locations. I live in Hayes so I always go there and it is always consistent. With the deep dish an average person eats around 2 slices.
(4)Geoff B.
Decent atmosphere, decent pizza. It was nice of the servers to let us linger after they had clearly closed the restaurant. That being said, I've had better pizza and salad in this city (Delfina, anyone?).
(3)Mark D.
I'm not a big fan of the deep dish...but this pizza was pretty darn good. They don't joke around when they say it's deep dish, it's gotta couple pints of sauce and cheese in there. I'm a big eater and two slices were more than enough. We had their chicken pesto which was great. If you want to test whether you are properly hydrated, check out their website. patxispizza.com If your mouth doesn't water...better see a doctor!

Finally, a relatively affordable new food option for the O So Chic Hayes Valley. Definitely a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Very earnest and sweet service albeit a bit awkward. It is a bit of a shame, however, that the food isn't fantastic. The pizza was just ok. The salad I had was, I won't mince words, TERRIBLE. And unfortunately the ambiance is just plain strange. The TVs along the one wall are oddly placed, the furniture is not comfortable, the space is strangely laid out, and they could use a lesson in mood lighting. It feels like a place that can't really pick an identity: is it a sports bar (with no bar) or is it a family-oriented pizzeria (with no kids)?

Just when I thought I'd never find a better pizza than my main place in Mill Valley, I had the good fortune to eat a delightful pizza dinner in honor of my stepdaughter's 30th birthday at Patxi's earlier this week. The crust is its own whole nation, with striated layers that go crunch in the best possible way, each crunch including several sub crunches. We're talking crunch-gasms! I loved my thin crust pizza with fennel garlic sausage, light cheese, and yellow onions. Despite the noisy environment, I give it 5 stars. Ah, the crust!!!
(5)Allegra F.
really great food and even better service. the staff is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. i love their deep dish california. wheat deep dish crust? that's amazing. aaaand it's tasty. the sauce is flavorful and the amount of cheese is nicley balanced with the other toppings. the stuff tastes great cold the next day too! the greek salad is unlike any other (and i was forwarded by my awesome waitress) and was quite tasty. good wines, good rootbeer, and they always keep your water glass full. we usually get seated within 5 mins and when we don't we preorder our pie and then it comes to our table when we do. well, a little after we do but i enjoy the concept. it is tiny, full of hard surfaces and loud. but in my eyes, it's a pizza place and does not need to be super fancy. when i crave an intimate dining environment, i go elsewhere. if i want really good pizza that will feed me for the next 3 days for a little less than 20 bucks, i go to Patxi's. oh, and their napkins totally kick ass.
(4)Tyler K.
Mmmhmmm.... Deep Dish!
(5)Hannah R.
Not only is the pizza delicious, but the management is top-notch for a pizzeria. There was a miscommunication about my delivery order and they insisted that I get the pizza for free. Now that's true Chicago business etiquette! And I will be dining with them again shortly.
(5)dave g.
patxi's is great! we've waited for years to have traditional chicago style pizza on this side of the bay. so we get two - patxi's and little star. i'm not as fond of the cornmeal crust as i am of the regular stuff, but little star is still good. They have a cool little space with good beer and good music. we eat there sometimes. we go to patxi;s too, which, personally i like better. the sauce on top is not as chunky as zachary's. and it seems a little sweeter. it's very tasty food! the restaurant and servers all seemed very nice. and their space is spacious. if you haven't tried it or had chicago style deep dish pizza, i highly recommend it.

Where have I been. I live in the Civic Center area and have my favorite pizza delivery from the Castro. It was Saturday night Gay Pride so my fav could not delivery , so I was lucky enough to fins Patxi's. The service was fast , but the pizza was awesome. I had a mushroom and onion. It was delivered hot, fast and was so tasty. They cook the dough on a lightly dressed corn meal pan ( i think), which gives the crust a really crispy taste. Great job, you have a new fan and customer. I will still order form my friends in the Castro, but probably when I want a slice. When I wan to eat a whole pizza which I did last night and this morning, I might be re thinking my plans. What a nice surprise.

Tis the season to be merry and HOlly, err jolly! Patxi's not only has delicious deep dish pizza, but also the HOegaarden on tap. This hereby completes the HO trifecta (read my previous two reviews). I really could go on about dem HOs, but won't. :) I've been to Patxi's a few times and have always enjoyed the pizza and dining experiences. I must admit that Patxi's isn't my most fav deep dish pizza place, as LS will always be tops on my list (in the Bay Area). AnywHO, I was recently in Hayes Valley with some good friends, and hit up Patxi's after another local and meaty place was super crowded. We got seated right away. Our Server was friendly, funny, and super attentive. We ordered: - Spinach Salad with bacon, tomatoes, onions, and garlic croutons. Oh Mylanta! Bacon with anything, especially healthy, rocks. FTW! - Special Pizza with Sausage, mushrooms, onions and green peppers. Toppings were a great combo and super tasty and flavorful. There's a nice crisp and buttery crust texture, too. This was cheesey pizza pie goodness. Washing down the salad and pizza with the HO made me a very happy camper. What made the experience even better was the company. :) Cheers and looking forward to returning for the pizza and dem HOs. Happy HOlidays everyone! HO HO HO!!

Don't bother coming here during lunch. The service is horrible. Didn't get our food for almost 30 minutes. Soda refill was given to the wrong table.
(2)Whitney I.
Delicious! Tastes like Chicago style pizza. Awesome server...from brazil helped us and wrote down names of restaurants we should try. We are from out of town...nice to have sweet people around. Yummy food too!
(5)Dee I.
I've only ever had their takeout deep dish. Pretty freakin' awesome.
(4)Berna T.
I have never had "Chicago Style" pizza before, but I was lured into Patxi's by the aroma of garlic and tomato sauce wafting into the street. My friend P and I headed on in after a day of shopping and ordered a Spinach-Pesto Chicago style. Be prepared to wait - they make it on the spot, so it can take a while (like a half hour or so). Service was very friendly and attentive (they refilled my iced tea when it hit the halfway mark!). The pizza was rich and extra cheesy, dripping with sauce (surprisingly, I like it this way)...add some pepper flakes, garlic salt, and parmesan cheese and it is some pretty damn good pizza. I usually don't like crust, but the thick crust was really yummy. Great selection of toppings for those of you who want to get creative with your pizza.
(4)adam b.
This pizza is pretty dank. Each slice is basically like a sandwich. One piece could easily fill a reasonably sized human being. For some reason I always eat 4. I tried to convince them to have a pizza eating contest but i don't think they took me seriously.
(4)SF Blondie B.
LOvE ordering the thin slice of pepperoni for lunch. JUST ask for it well-done....yum. Staff is always super nice. Im yet to encounter someone who works there with a negative attitude.
(5)Andrew R.
Very similar to Zachary's Pizza in the East Bay, Patxi's is good authentic deep dish pizza. Located in the middle of the Hayes Valley area, its a good place for beers and pizza before heading out. A flaw is that they do not serve pitchers, only beer by the glass.
(4)Bradley R.
Patxi's, my favorite Hayes Valley eatery and my favorite pizza! I have eaten there at least a dozen times for sit down, three times for takeout and six times for just a quick slice. Food: The pizza is just divine!! Thick or thin, you can't go wrong. So what if a thick takes 45 minutes, that gives you time to enjoy the company you are with. Service: The wait staff, management and owners are a dream. Every time I walk in, they recognize me and we chat for a moment before we get down to business. I even often see staff off site in Hayes Valley and they always wave with a smile. GOOD JOB GUYS (AND GALS) Location: Awesome!! Order your pizza, go get a beer across the street, go buy a shirt, check out the other shops, come back and it's ready for pickup. All in all a wonderful experience. We need more places like this in SF!!
(5)Rachael R.
i had a craving for deep dish, went on google and found this place. its really vegan friendly! they have whole wheat crust and even soy cheese! it is the best pizza ive ever had in my life. the problem is where the heck to park. hayes valley is up and coming so there is never any parking!!!! the wait for the pizza is also about 45min... so bring a nintendo ds or a book with you because youll be sitting there for a while. but seriously, thats great pizza.
(4)mark h.
I have had my share of thick, deep dish (not that pizza hut crap) authentic Chicago Pizza. Being from the midwest, I never understood the whole think crust thing. If I'm paying $20.00 for a pizza, I want my moneys worth. Coming out west, I had to change some of my eating expectation... So sad to say. I was happy to find Patxi's on a stroll down Hayes Valley. So many memories of the good ol days. If you never had chicago style pizza its about the size of a 35 pound plate you use to life weights and probably weighs the same. Words of wisdom if you eat this type of pizza for the first time please don't waste your money on salads, breadsticks, wings, etc. THIS PIZZA WILL FILL YOU UP. The decor clean and in a high traffic aread. Parking can be a problem but nothing like some other areas in the city. On a busy sports night the wait can get long. Another thing about the long lines and type of food your getting, the wait for the pizza to come out is a long time, sometimes over an hour, but trust me when the pizza comes out you will be in pizza heaven. Prices are reasonable and the food is good and please remember to share because you wont be able to tackle this alone.

The four stars is really only 3 and a half. Patxi's deep dish pizza is wonderful and delightful. Very filling and everything melds well together. I have only good things to say about their pizza. The muddy gray area comes upon contemplation and experience of their service. The long wait for the pizza is not at all a problem. Rather it is the lack of attentive service that you would expect especially when the place is not packed. To be in my visual field and see the waiters playing around in the back would normally be fine if they had given a thought to checking in on their tables first. Sitting around parched is not my idea of fun. This is not the first time or i would have let it go. Needless to say, I would give Patxi's 5 stars if they had good service because their pizza is great and reasonably priced.
(4)Anita C.
Looking for a bar with flatscreen TVs playing the Yankee/Red Sox game, my friend and I strolled into Patxi. To our delight we got cheap PBRs, a great view to watch the game and yummy pizza. Our waiter was cool and I enjoyed my hearty slice.
(4)Erica T.
The Chicago-style pizza was good. I think Little Star is more to my taste, but the waitresses here are super friendly and helpful.
(4)nick a.
"Outstanding Pizza - not so great atmosphere. Hayes valley is exploding with new places to eat. Patxis takes its place among them. I would give it 5 stars because the food is phenomneal, and the people are very friendly, but atmosphere is poor, and that matters! First - way too brightly lit, and way to sterile. It screams "shopping mall food court". Plasma TVs - totally unneeded, thankfully not turned on while I was there. Second - it screams "chain". Even though there is only one other location in Palo Alto (which does not make it a chain), it feels like someone studied a formula and is blindly copying something All the waiters have logos on their shirts - bad! If they could just dim the lights, stick some mismatched furniture in there, perhaps some weird lamps hanging from the ceiling, and ditch the logo-uniform, this place would be much better!"

I'm from the east bay and saying any pizzeria is better or as good as Zachary's? Them's is fightin' words! I've been a loyal follower of Zachary's, worshipping at the altar of Chicago style gooey goodness for probably 20+ years. But, with anything great there is room for healthy (or unhealthy? foodwise) competition. To get some perspective I visited Pizzeria Uno and Gino's East in Chicago. Uno's rocks it hard core, and Gino's East is serviceable at best. Don't get me wrong, I would still eat a whole pie if given the opportunity, but I would just enjoy Gino's East the least. Review Alert!: Walking on Hayes, feeling a little hungry, a waft of delicious pizza flavor ribbons comes my way. Like that dog in the cartoons, my body floated in the path of the wonderful aromatic ribbons into Paxti's! Atmosphere: I've read the other reviews and would have to say that I agree that the atmosphere is not what would keep me coming back. It's nice, but doesn't seem to exhibit a unique personality. I don't think that it's too bright, but sometimes it takes a while for a place to get broken in and that's when the personality comes out. It's got potential in that repect. Good bones if you will. Service: We walked in and were immediately seated! Has that ever happened at Zachary's or Pizzeria Uno's? Not likely. We ordered our pies: Mine was a deep dish pepperoni and mushroom and my wife's was an extra-thin crust (don't ask me! She just doesn't get deep dish.) girly pizza. You know, the one with all the fancy-pants toppings? Our drinks were brought to us quickly and refilled continuously until we drank our fill. Servers were friendly and helpful. Pizzas: My pizza reminded me of Uno's in Chicago, NOT the chain that was out here! I'm not done with my review, but will finish it as soon as I get back!

The pizza is just OK. Service is below average: slow, pretentious. The place is very loud and packed. I personally feel that Little Star is 10 times better. Also, not very child friendly...
(3)mazzy s.
Patxi's is by far the best deep dish pizza in the bay area. Well, okay, in comparison to Little Star and Zachary's. One major difference between patxi's and the other two is the crust. Patxis is a buttery biscuity crust vs. cornmeal. That's a personal preference. Putting that aside, it's better than Zachary's because Zachary's has this watery too much tomato sauce out of a can quality that makes it, well, bad. I like deep dish to be cheesier like it is at Giordianos (sp?) or Gino's east in Chicago. I think it's better than little star because at little star you can choose from like 3 kinds of pizzas. That's just annoying and lazy and when I went we got the chicken pizza which was barely warm and the chicken was perfectly square and seemed like it had been sitting in a bin all day. At patxi's you can pick what you want!! and they even have beef. Every time I've gotten it it's been really good and satisfying. My friend even ordered a vegan whole wheat deep dish pizza!!(I mean, I think that's gross, but, hey! they made it). I'm annoyed with the 3.5 star rating when little star got 4.5. I updated this and removed a star because the last time we got the pizza it sucked. The crust was soggy and the meat inside tasted old. So sad. UPDATE 2: I have removed another star because we got delivery and AGAIN the crust was a complete soggy mess.
(3)Melissa S.
Considered more authentic than Little Star Pizza, Me and Sylvia C with her friend native Chicagian Bill _ stopped by for a quick bite to eat at this famed chicago styled establishment. The quick bite turned out to be not so quick as the so called 15-20 minute turned in to something around 30 and above range. BUT luckily we pre-ordered (love that) and went across the street to Place Pigale for our warm up drinks. When we arrived back, they weren't quite ready for us...but when we did sit down they served us right away. I agree with Maria D on her descriptions to a T. Think suburban, think tapered mommy jeans. The pizza was tasty, but didn't wow me like Zacharies. I'll have to compare to the real deal when I go to Chicago next week!! Will report back dutifully.
(3)Heather M.
good chicago style --NO good crust --NO Fresh toppings--NO Sauce--A day later I'm still downing tums Nice folks--YES Service--FRIENDLY Good pizza--NO We live in a city full of wonderful places to eat.
(1)Yayne A.
The pizza is delicious. I prefer the deep dish to the thin crust. Here is what makes it stand out, the service. My cousin, her 8 year old daughter and I have become regulars because of the service. Philly is wonderful. He made little one feel special and made it a pleasureable experience for her. They are a very family friendly place and we need places like that. They remember their regulars and even when you can tell that they are running around like crazy and don't have a second to themselves, they are friendly curteous and make you feel welcome.
(4)Matt H.
My fiance and I discovered this place in Palo Alto. The deep dish? To die for. Mine: always deep dish with chicken, kalamata olives, and garlic. MMMMmmmmm. I've also been to Zachary's at least 20 times, and I think Patxi's come's close. In fact, last time I went to Zachary's I was a little disappointed and I think I may be preferring Patxi's these days. It's true, their atmosphere isn't the best - it's pretty basic and it does seem to get way too loud in there, but it's worth it.
(5)Stebbin R.
having lived in chicago, i know real chicago style pizza. this stuff gets it right -- lordy! and i'm usually a carnivore when it comes to toppings, but their veggie pie is amazing. it's difficult for me to go a full week without eating this pizza it's that good...
(5)Robert S.
yep, it ain't zacharys. the sauce is thin with not enough tomato chunks, and it almost tastes canned. but its still not bad. the dough is decent, as good as zacharys. but i would have welcomed this pizza in chicago, where i had zero good chicago style pizzas! and this place is walking distance from my house, thats a plus.
(3)Lesly S.
My husband brought a slab of this home from San Francisco to D.C. and chowed on it the next day (we swung by for a group dinner before getting on the red-eye home). He said it was still awesome, but I will just have to take his word for the next day goodness of it all! I thought it was great the first time around though, and 8 of us ate for $50? Cha-ching!
(3)Brian P.
can you say YUM?!?!?! I usually check out yelp before I walk into a new resturant. this time was not the case. The plans with the girlfriend was to eat at a different place. She suggested Patxi's after sitting in the park waiting for me. The aroma coming for the ovens over took her. She made me walk by it and it did the same to me. We both have been wanting to try an authentic Chicago style pie and low and behold I think we found the perfect place. Looking over the menu it was nice to see sevral vegi options for my girlfriend and the amount of differnet combos they had listed. We settled on the Spinach, Pesto, and Parmesan Cheese stuffed pizza and a Greek salad. Both were impressive. The salad had all sorts of vegis and two big slices of feta cheese, not crumbles. After about 30 mins the pizza came out. WOW!!! I am not much a fork and knife pizza guy but this won me over. All the flavors came out and combined so well. We both had just one slice and we were stuffed. Speaking of which. Take a close look at your options. The stuffed pie as a thin layer of dough between the cheese and sauce that sits on top. It does not seem that crust gets cooked. Next time we will get the pizza without thin layer of dough. I look forward to going back soon when the hunger comes a callin.
(4)Amlan S.
I am going to keep this short. Their Pizza Rocks !!!!!!
(4)Russel S.
It's great to now have some real options for Chicago-style pizza in the city. Serving pretty authentic Chicago-style pizza instantly puts them in a league apart from most joints, but within that league they have some serious competition. Compared to Little Star (deep dish of course), Patxi's is more cheesy and saucy, which in principle I prefer, but it's somehow not packing as much depth of flava. 'Tis a simpler pie, but mighty fine nonetheless.
(4)Kris A.
Having some experience on having some authentic Chicago pizza, I would say after going to Patxi's for takeout, the pizza was ok. The crust had that buttery taste in which you cant wait to get to the crust. The pizza lacked the toppings and had more of the tomato sauce on there. If patxi's wants to think of changing some things up they should look into putting more of the toppings the customer(s) ordered.
(3)D J.
Went in there today for lunch and the place wasn't half bad. The service was good and the pizza wasn't all that bad. I do enjoy myself some deep dish pizza and I was satisfied today. I got the mushroom and spinach pizza, but it was a little too wet, a lot of mushroom juice running all down my fingers and hands. I got a cherry coke also and wasn't charged for it!!! One extra star for that.
(4)Esther H.
Pizza's good, I've never had deep dish before so I can't compare. Beer prices are fair (especially for the hood), two large screen TVs on the wall (at difficult angles to watch, at that) are off-putting. Also, there is only one bathroom.
(3)T.J. L.
Hi there everyone, stay away from the place......the thin crust pizza I had was horrible, I felt like I was eating old tomato pasta smeared on top of dried out card board and what was all the sanddust like crap on the bottom of the crust. I am from Boston and spent tons of time eating amazing pizza in the North End there and in Little Itlay in NYC, they would kill these people for the crap they call pizza. ALSO the staff takes my order after I tip them, then we wait and wait and check in to find out when our pizza will be ready. We are sitting in their space and they tell us they will call us when it is done because they can see exactly where we are sitting. 35 minutes LATER I ask where is our pizza, opps the girl says it has been sitting in the hot box for 20 minuntes why didn't we ask for it. If the staff focused more on the food and customer service and NOT end of day cleaning then maybe we would have had a better experience. NEVER AGAIN.....run to Go-Getters before you get this slop.
(1)Reman C.
Read a review on the Guardian's Best of the Bay 2006, stumbled across it a couple blocks from my apartment (!), and enjoyed every last bit of it. Warning: it takes 30-40 minutes to prep the pizza from time of order, so make sure you have good company. Tasty, deep dish Chicago style pizza - had the mushroom, pepperoni, and olive deep dish small (2-3 people, we were stuffed at two pieces each, 6 total) for less than $20.
(5)Evelyn B.
This pizza was destined to become a permanent fixture on our takeout circuit. My preference leans towards thinner crust, but recently I have grown weary of skinny 'za. Maybe I am feeling sentimental about the windy city, but these days it is all about Patxi's pizza pie.
(5)Tiberius A.
Small joint. Went for a buds bday...waited about 20 minutes, but definitely worth it - the deep dish pizzas was good and tasty. Minus points for our "blond" server who forgot my salad, and after recalling everyones drink order my chianti was a cab and my friends chardonnay also was said back as a cab?! Anyway, nice joint for a small group of friends and get some samplings of different deep dish pizzas...I'm definitely heading back to the area. I saw some other digs I'd like to eat at.
(3)Carrot C.
Gross. Good beer, very friendly servers and host, but pizza sat like a BRICK in all three of our stomachs. And when the sauce clearly comes out of a jar, at least put some non-processed mozzarella on there. ...go to Little Star for deep dish. Or better yet: Chicago! I heard Southwest had some good deals this summer...
(2)Janice C.
Say cheese! If you love cheese in your pizza, Patxi's pizza sure hits the spot. I like cheese, but I have to be in the mood for a LOT of cheese. We ordered the special deep dish pizza with sausage, mushrooms, onions and green peppers. This pizza is very toothsome -- the mozzarella, tomato sauce, saltiness of the sausage and fresh veggies all come together for that one great pizza experience. You definitely need to use a knife and fork. Keep in mind that this pizza takes 30 mins to prepare so order up on the apps or have a drink in your hand to pass the time. We also shared the spinach salad with bacon, tomatoes, onions and garlic croutons. A nice drizzle of EVOO and balsamic was all it needed and kept it healthy. (ahem, bacon is healthy for you. This is your New Year's mantra!) Service was light hearted and our server was smiling all the time. While I can't go with the 5 star rating because Little Star Pizza has ruined it for me, Patxi's is definitely a solid pizza joint.
(4)Jenny K.
Here is my dilemma, I can't decided to love Patxi or hate Patxi. Since I've been pondering for the last couple of days with my upset stomach, I've come down to this. This is going to be a love-hate relationship with Patxi's. I really enjoyed their food, but hate them for causing me to go through a couple of days of food poisoning but love them now again cause I dropped a quick (will gain-back) 5 lbs before the New Year. Came here on Tuesday night with Mike L. and waited for about 15 minutes for our table. During the waiting period we were able to look through the menu to get an idea of what to order. At the table, we ordered: -Antipasto Plate: slices of Aged Prosciutto, Spicy Salami and Sweet Coppa served with artisan cheeses, olives, fruit and crackers. -10" Chicago stuffed pizza: Half order of Classic Meat (pepperoni, italian sausage and canadian bacon) and half order of Jenny's Combo (basil, crushed garlic, mushrooms, basil & garlic pesto, sun dried tomatoes and low-fat mozzarella cheese) -One Hoegaarden for Mike L. -One Amstel Light for me. Loved the cured meat plate and loved the pizza. Stuffed our faces full and left talking about the amount of calories we've ingested. Great time, great food and then the nightmare kicked in a couple hours later. No biggie, I will be back for sure!
(3)Alex P.
Still delicious and still genuine. Consistently great...I've eaten at three of their locations and gotten deliveries in various parts of the Bay Area. Brought the boss to lunch and he called it the best. In Palo Alto we pre-ordered for lunch and it was ready soon after we arrived. Great stuff! I miss Chicago less...because I can get Patxis here!!! The family eats here (or gets delivery) about once a month.
(5)C S.
Pros- pretty good pizza, friendly service, fast delivery AMAZING Customer service!! Cons-just ah lil expensive , and ah lil mushy/greasy(i did get thin crust and alot of meat on my pizza in their defense. maybe pan would of been better) all in all good experience good pizza just ah lil pricey. good stuff i like blondies, mr pizza man , and round table though. Didnt win my heart but was good
(4)Shannon G.
I am a fan of this place because it is the only place I have been to that calls itself a Chicago style pizza place and actually is the closest to the real stuff I had in Chicago. I'd say go check it out!
(4)Kymberli C.
I lovelovelove deep dish pizza. I've heard about Patxi's from a few friends and had it bookmarked for awhile but never had a chance to try it until just recently. I thought it was good but compared to Zachary's and Little Star, I think I like Patxi's the least. We tried both the Patxi's Chicago Stuffed and the Patxi's Pan Pizza. We got the "Special" which was sausage, mushroom, and green peppers in the Stuffed. I thought the stuffed was actually going to be a top layer of crust but it just the normal crust. We got Spinach-Pesto with chicken on the Pan Pizza which has a "cornmeal" crust. I was hoping it would be more like Little Star's crust because I really like their cornmeal crust which is kind of cornbready but it was just like the regular crust but with a cornmeal dust all over it. They were both good. We came on a Saturday night and it was pretty packed but there was a table open for us so we didn't have to wait. We did see a few larger tables have to wait a little while but it wasn't too bad. The service was friendly and our waitress checked up on us often. We ordered 2 small pizzas because we wanted to sample the difference in the deep dishes and ended taking home a whole pizza but it tasted better the next day. So don't be shy about ordering because the leftovers are just as good, if not better!

A few months ago, I ordered a gluten free pizza from Patxi's in Hayes Valley. It arrived; my boyfriend and I ate it; it was delicious. However, I got horribly, horribly sick in a way that anyone with celiac disease is familiar with. I called them the next day and asked about the order and while they thought they had gotten it right, they were extremely apologetic and said they'd send me a refund check and a gift certificate for my troubles. And they did. (Not that I will ever use that gift certificate. My boyfriend, who can eat wheat, might. But I don't trust their gluten free pizza now.) So, even though I got violently ill from their pizza, I wouldn't have written a bad review. However, I had misplaced the check, and just found it. It was a pizza-sized amount, so not an enormous amount of money, and I didn't think about it when I deposited it, but I was REALLY dismayed when I got a letter in the mail saying that Patxi's had CLOSED THAT ACCOUNT. So, thanks, Patxi's, for making me violently ill, and making me literally pay twice for it. You suck.

DISCLAIMER: Please keep in mind that I am basing this review off of a single, solitary slice of their cheese pizza that I just consumed about five minutes ago as I was here at my laptop. My wife's department head ordered this for lunch and gave the pie to my wife later that day. It was quite thick and I thought that there was, based on what I saw, really too much sauce and very little cheese. I like a saucy pizza, but this looked like WAY too much. Upon heating it, however, more cheese bubbled to the surface revealing this to be a quite balanced and tasty slice. I can't say it was mind-blowing, but I sure could have eaten more than the one slice that was there and had been very happy. This is a place to check out again in the near future.

Deep Dish with Sausage, Pepperoni, Jalapenos, Garlic, Olives, and Not Too Much Pineapple. I'm In Love! Thank You Patxi's for making this combo my new favorite. You are officially the best pizza I've ever had.
(5)Kara B.
Pretty tasty. I like that they offer all of the pizza a few different ways - Chicago (or, quiche-style - as the old man likes to say), pan, thin or extra-thin. NICE. Also nice that you can get just a slice from 11-4. And, you can order half-baked (hehe) pizza to-go. I always say there's a time and place for Chicago quiche-style pizza... when you have a lot of time on your hands, and your dinning companions aren't of the annoying sort. Pretty good salads too. One small Chicago pizza and one salad is plenty for two. They also offer "snack" pizza for about $5 n' change. *warning - this review may cause extreme yawning, loss of memory, and is from a Yelper with NO experience of Zachary's, only Zelda's (in Sacramento).

Pizza was great (I liked it more than little star) but the service was really bad. We got the classic or whatever they call it there. The crust under the pizza was still crispy, but the crust on the outside was super dry (maybe you can't have both). Waited over an hour for the pizza. Which is fine if you let people know before hand, but after 40 minutes, they kept telling us ours would be out in ten minutes. So next time I will call ahead.

Patxi's = The best of Chicago's Deep Dish, and that's all you need to know. I grew up on Deep Dish and delivered pizza's to get through college. I worked at Edwardo's and Geno's when it came to Palos, and there is no doubt that Patxi's is equal to any pie you can get from Chicago. It's a bit more saucy than cheesy, so it's more like Geno's East than Uno's or Due's (and I'm not talking about that Uno's chain crap which is not the same as the downtown one.) Zachary's in the East Bay is also just as good as Patxi's. Why anyone would get a thin pizza at Patxi's puzzles me. Tip: You CAN and you SHOULD call ahead if you're getting Deep Dish, so you don't have to sit there for 35 minutes. I usually call it in before I leave the house - gives enough time to drive and park :p I'm still praying for a Richmond Dist location :-) Right now the SF locations are in the worst parking areas in the city :\
(5)Noel M.
Need a cheese fix? Sometimes I do. Even the deep dish "Special," which has sausage, mushrooms, onions and green peppers, is a whole lot more cheese than any other ingredient.
(3)Oriana C.
I love Patxi's Pizza, however, my husband and I live in Potrero Hill (a mere 2.4 miles away from the Hayes location) and they refused to deliver to our house, stating that it was "outside their delivery zone." Trying to reason with them over the phone was impossible. 2 stars for customer service coming from a pregnant lady constantly craving pizza who could potentially be a weekly customer and easy sell for them. Rethink your delivery zones, Patxi's!
(2)Michelle C.
I heart deep dish pizza. This location is a lot smaller than the other one I went to closer to Golden Gate. But just the same the pizza is so good. Wait time is about 30mins. So be sure to not be too hungry, just enough. Staff were nice. I would for sure come back here again sometime.

I have not had a deep dish pizza for many years, that being said, the last time I had one was in Chicago in the 90's at Gino's East!! Since I was already in the area and had a late lunch down the street I decided to try Patxi's Chicago pizza and take it Togo for later. I got in there at a good time before 5 pm and order a small 10" special with sausage, mushrooms, onions and green peppers. I requested it half baked and had to wait about 20-30 minutes for it, not too bad. Took it home and baked it as instructed on the info from the box. OH Yes, it is great!! The toppings were still fresh and wholesome and the tomato sauce is excellent tasting. Not salty at all, just the right amount and NOT Greasy. The crust was light in texture and held up to the ingredients.
(4)Phil D.
Well, it was OK, but it certainly didn't deserve the 4.5 average on Yelp. Service was great, it was a nice place, but the pizza was average.
(3)Sarah Z.
We're from Chicago, and this was the best Chicago-style pizza we've ever had! We were pleasantly surprised. The servers were friendly, and the food and wine were fantastic. I'll definitely recommend this to anyone in the Bay Area who wants to try Chicago-style pizza without flying 1800 miles.
(5)Jeff G.
You guys have 'Chicago' in the title of your restaurant but you do not cut your thin crust pizza into squares without me asking. Half of the time you don't even think you can accommodate my "bizarre" request. What a shame, Paxti's! The square (or party) cut is clearly superior and definitely a Chicago tradition. You guys should at least know what I'm talking about! You guys have some of the better pizza in the city though. I order from here often. It tastes like if Giordanos and Pizza Hut had a baby. (4-star review is relative to other pizza in the bay area)
(4)Jennifer W.
I love Chicago styled pizza, but I haven't had much of it unfortunately. Still, of what small offerings there are in the Bay Area, this is among the best I've had. The stuffed cheese is so worth the wait. The cheese and and the tomato sauce is not overwhelming at all, unlike some places that do too much. The crust is somehow perfectly thin and doughy at the same time. We had half spicy bacon cheeseburger and caliente. They were way too similar, but both were delicious. For 3 people, 10" should be enough, but we got the 12" with leftovers. The lunch special is $10 for a soda, salad, and slice. The service was good and the place is small and intimate. There are a ton of flat screens around the room. They deliver. You can order before hand if there is a wait.
(4)Heather L.
Went for a late lunch. The slice + salad + drink lunch special for less than $10 is awesome! The crust, sauce, and toppings are all delicious. My butter lettuce salad was perfection...bacon, blue cheese, cool and crisp lettuce. It was a great lunch at an even better price! I am definitely a fan!

This is for its deep dish for pick up...Honestly after walking in to pick up the pizza the place wasn't screaming for me to stay...its kind of like a small pizza parlor ambiance where all of those people picking up pies (yes pies, thats what we call them in NY) walk right through (even in their stinky post yoga clothes)...they should have the counter in the front. Anyway...I'm not actually a deep dish person. I even prefer the thin crust at little star. But we had just watched the chicago cubs lose to the SF giants and we felt that we should commemorate the loss with chicago style pizza. We got the classic with spinach and mushrooms inside. I swear it probably weighed five pounds. I made him carry it, because his guns are bigger than mine. This pizza was amazing. The toppings (are they called that when they are stuck inside)...were plentiful...the cheese amazing and stringy...and the sauce didn't over power the other ingredients. The only way I can really describe how amazing this pizza tasted is by telling you that the fork next to my plate did not even get picked up. Rather I picked that slice up, and shoveled it into my mouth. And if I was eating it alone, which I plan to do next time, I still would not use a fork. I would have kept the pizza on the plate, and I would have stuck my face in my pizza pie. Food eating contest style. Ooooh. Thats an idea.

After playing tourist for a day and walking across the GG bridge, we were starting to get a bit hungry, but we still needed to watch the second to last HP movie before seeing the final one. Our solution? Get pizza delivered! We drove by the Patxi's in Noe Valley and since I mentioned never having Chicago deep dish pizza before, we just HAD to order some. We put in our order en route to my friend's place and with an estimated delivery time of 45-60 minutes, we had a hot pizza in our hands a little less than mid-way through our movie! For the two of us, we got a medium deep dish with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and tomatoes. When we got the box, it looked small, but once you opened it up, then the size of the deep dish set in! One slice and I was full. Unfortunately, my first experience with a Chicago deep dish wasn't that amazing. Yes, it was tasty, but for as thick as it was, it was lacking in toppings (err... I guess stuffings in this case). In my slice, I had one slice of pepperoni, one tomato slice, a few slices of mushrooms, and a few pieces of sausage. Otherwise, it was the crust and an okay amount of sauce. When I got to the edge, though, the crust was redeeming. It was nicely flavored, with a crisp outer edge and a chewy consistency. I might give the deep dish another try, but until I run into a must-try place, I'm sticking to my thin crust pizzas.

In general, not a big fan of deep dish. Ive heard people ooh and aah about Zacharys, and I crossed the bridge only to be somewhat overwhelmed. Patxis however makes a pretty good pie, and though I still prefer a thin crust, Im definitely not opposed to hitting Patxis up every once in a while. Oh and btw its pronounced pacheese.
(4)Mike L.
Deep Dish Deliciousness! I've heard about Patxis for a while now, but I have to admit I never kept it high on my list of places to try. In general, I've never been that fond of deep dish pizza - I usually like my pizza crusts thin and kind of crispy, and I don't like that much tomato sauce. However, Patxis just might convert me a bit. Came here with one of my buddies who was working in town, and so we made some last minute plans to meet up for dinner. Parking wasn't as bad as I feared, so the experience was already pretty good there. The wait wasn't terrible (only about 20 mins or so), but they are pretty good about being efficient with people's wait. The hostess advised us that while we waited, we could get in line towards the kitchen and pre-order our food so that by the time we would be seated, the pizzas would already be cooking, if not ready. Since neither of us were ridiculously hungry (in no small part because we planned on getting a few pints while we waited/ate), we opted for a medium (12") Chicago Style, half Special and half Classic Meat. In case you were wondering...yes, we did go for the healthy options with all that sausage and meat. But it could have been worse, we resisted getting the Spicy Bacon Cheeseburger filling...haha. Our wait ended up being a little longer than was originally estimated (closer to about 30 mins or so) in part because of a large party right before and after us, but the timing actually worked out really well. We were seated at our table, and shortly after our waiter himself, he came back to let us know that our pizza was ready...no waiting! When he brought it out, we pretty much dived in immediately, but man, these slices are hefty! I think we only polished off two slices each, and split the the remaining four slices to take home. Between the two, I think the Classic Meat was a little better, but both were good, so hard to go wrong either way. I was scared that there would be a ton of sauce just dumped on it, but was pleasantly surprised to find a relatively thin layer instead. For the most part, the stuffing was made up of cheese, whatever topping/filling, and dough, which (being a deep dish pizza) was pretty soft and chewy, but not too thick. I noticed in a few reviews, people commented that Patxis isn't the most truly, authentic Chicago deep dish style pizza out there. I don't have enough experience to know whether that may be true or not, but if that's the case, maybe that's the reason why it appeals to me a bit more. I think Zachary's would be a fair comparison since it's mentioned quite a bit as a deep dish place in the Bay Area, but I enjoyed Patxi's more. Granted that it's been a few years since I last went to Zachary's, but I don't remember being overwhelmed by it, and the last time I went to try it again, the wait was ridiculous. Maybe I'll try again for comparison's sake, but they would have to be really good to drop Patxis down. Being so much closer to home and with a much shorter wait, Patxis is my go-to place for deep dish.

We must have been lucky to just wander in here and get seated right away for dinner one night. What we ate: Spinach salad - big enough to share with that someone special Pan Pizza - cornmeal crust...so yummy There are plenty of topping choices - even vegan junk, if you roll that way. Ours had pepperoni, sausage and mushroom Service was prompt, courteous and fun!
(4)Marc S.
brought my folks here last night... great service and great pizza! I'll be back :)
(4)Jay C.
Credentials: Chicagoland native, used to work for the famous Gino's East pizza in chicago The Verdict: Pretty decent for Chicago style, excellent pizza for California. There is something lacking in comparison to native chicago style by way of spicing and sauce thickness, but otherwise it tastes fresh enough and the dough is similar to some I've had in the past. It's nice to have a restaurant like this in CA. The only thing I'll say is that it might be a little overhyped; it's crowded all the time and they don't deliver. Why don't Chicago style places deliver in California? It's retarded. Makes no sense.
(4)Sharon J.
FAVORITE pizza place in SF, hands-down! Nice service at Hayes Valley location - haven't been to others.
(5)Taylor C.
Paxti's has won me over for best pizza I've had in the city (so far). I guess some visitors from other parts of the country (Chicago) may turn their chins up at what passes for deep dish in the Bay Area, but I give little thoughts to their opinions. I've only had the stuffed, but I'm willing to bet this is the best stuff on the menu from what I had. It takes about 35-40 minutes to bake, but you shouldn't have any trouble passing the time and grabbing a drink. Friendly staff and good prices on both beer and pizza to boot. i'll be back
(5)Mimi S.
Let me tell you about the one time Patxi's messed up....and how they fixed it. We order carry out from the HV location often. We showed up to pick up our pizza to find out they'd made us the wrong one. In return, they made us a new pizza + the old pizza (for the price of one, they had already ran my boyfriend's CC before they realized the mistake) + gave a us a $25 gift card for our troubles of waiting for the new pizza! Can you say good customer service? Because sadly, a lot of places in SF cannot... In regards to the pizza....YUM! I wasn't a fan of deep dish (with the exception of the occasional trip to Chicago for the real stuff) until Patxi's. You should be patient when ordering in house (or call ahead for take out...making a good deep dish is an art that can't be rushed!). I've also had their wheat crust and thin crust options also, both very good....and LOVE the antipasto plate (includes figs!). Thanks Patxi's for being our dinner staple in Hayes Valley!
(5)Greg V.
Great deep dish and pan pizzas. Snag one of their 'half baked' pies and when you're home from work you can have a fresh delicious pizza in half the time!
(4)Sarina I.
Placed was packed and we waited about 45mins and went across the street at the bar to kill time. We were starving by the time we sat down and thanks to the waiter for informing us that we can pre-order so it can just be at our table faster. We ordered a pizza with Garlic, Sausage and Mushroom. I did not know that Chicago Deep Dish has that MUCH sauce on it. I mean literally, I have ate deep dish before twice in the eastbay and never seen it. That said, I was not a big fan. It was just too much sauce. But overall it was okay. Not badly priced. But hey I am not a big pizza fan so don't kill me for it. I still try out anything!
(3)Lily R.
3.5 stars! Good try! I guess I am lucky living in SJ after all! I thought that Patxi's would rule over "Pizza chicago" near my house but it didn't!!! It was missing a little more flavor to the dough and sauce. After one small slice I was stuffed and kinda broke lol! A small pizza was $19 compared to that in SJ where I get a large for $21.

Chicago style pizza is such a treat, isn't it? Well, it is for me. Growing up in a household of unwavering allegiance to New York style, thin crust pizza, my pizza paradigm was slightly skewed. Funnily enough, my first taste of a Chicago pizza was IN Chicago! Needless to say I've been a fan ever since but on that same note, it set the bar VERY high since I started out with the best. I must say that Patxi's did not disappoint. It never ceases to amaze me the sheer grandness of this type of pizza. We order and when it get's set down on the table after the 30-40 minute wait (that's how long it takes to bake them), my mouth hangs slightly ajar as I stare longingly at what is clearly, in my eyes, a culinary masterpiece. We ordered a standard Hawaiian but damned if it didn't taste standard. I had one rather large piece and was so full after it I could barely finish my beer! It was just...TOO GOOD. My brain was telling me, more, more, MORE! But my stomach was saying, if you eat one more bite this may not have a happy ending. Patxi's is better than Little Star in my opinion, the crust and service was superior by far. I have heard rumblings that they're opening one in my neighborhood, the Marina. Oh Lord, please let it be true.
(4)Mike J.
Paxti's is the perfect antidote to that annoying (but unfortunately very prevalent) type of person I like to call the "Regional Food Snob". You know the type. They are very easy to spot because they're always going around saying things like "Well, I'm from New York so I KNOW what real pizza tastes like" or "You can't get a decent Steak on the West Coast" or "I don't even bother eating BBQ unless I'm back home in Texas". Yeah. THOSE people. What does all of this have to do with Paxti's, you ask? Before a recent trip to Chicago I made a point of consulting every expatriate Chicagoan I could find to discover where to get the best "deep-dish" Pizza in the city that invented it. These people all assured me that it's "never quite as good" when they have it in other cities. Sorry folks, Paxti's is every bit as good (probably better) than what I had in Chicago. What's more, the servers at Paxti's are amazing, especially considering that it's really just casual pizza joint. We were warmly greeted IMMEDIATELY upon entering, and our server was very attentive in just the right amount. She even went out of her way to point out that a size smaller than what I originally ordered would be plently for two, and she was absolutely correct. Definitely a 5-star experience in every way!
(5)Alex B.
Good Chicago style pie and huge salads (couldn't even finish the small Greek) as well as friendly and fast service. A great spot to grab lunch.
(4)J D.
Good neighborhood spot and friendly staff. The "pan" pizza is pretty good. It's like a deep dish pizza (lots o' cheese). If you get the "thin" crust, it's like normal pizza crust and it's just blah. I would say to come here if you want deep dish pizza, not regular-type crust pizza. Oh, and the Stella on draft is always flat here for some reason...
(3)Amber K.
By now you probably know that I eat A LOT of pizza. One of the reasons is that I bartend at Place Pigalle and Patxi's is just across the street, so I end up ordering at least once a week from there. First of all, I love the staff, they are so adorable and friendly! And second, I love that they have Chicago style deep dish along with thin crust. I don't order the deep dish much because it's just too hard to eat while I'm working, but it is heaven in a slice. I usually just go with the thin crust cheese, but it's amazing, and I think it's cause of the crust- it's buttery with cornmeal on the bottom, which is sinfully delicious. I'm taking one star off because after it seems, oh, 4 or 5? they stop serving slices and only sell whole pies. SULK. It's not like I'm making much on my sad, sad Sunday shift... ;)
(4)R T.
Came to Patxi's for dinner after a group of friends and I had a few pitchers from the bar across the street. I'm a huge lover for pizzas, and the last deep dish I've had were at Zachary's in Albany. It was my first time at Patxi's, but I trusted my friend Becky (who's a SF native)-- that this place is off the chain. We ordered the Chicken Pesto and Meat Lover Pizza (forgot the exact names) and it just INSTANTLY BLEW MY MIND. There was a parade of amazing in my mouth. The Chicken Pesto Pizza was my favorite, and having only 2 slices made me full. They make deep dish pizzas just how they're suppose to be. How is that, you say? The simplest and best way is to go there yourself. If you disagree, you need to get your taste buds checked!
(4)Sarah D.
Battle of the Bay Area Chicago Style pizza is on! A friend brought me her after I introduced her to Zachary's on Collage. The atmosphere is cool but it looked like they were trying to go for that old town classy, brick building, pizzeria look. The service was good too. The verdict: The deep dish was good but not better than Zachary's. Patxi's had more sauce than I like and it slid right off the pie before it could get into my mouth. The thin slice however, was delicious. Very nice cornmeal crust and perfectly crispy. Yummy. I liked this one a lot! I would come back here and maybe check out the beer and wine list a little more.
(4)Johnson N.
For the price, I wasn't all too impressed. Sure, it's super deep-dish pizza, but I'm not sure if that justifies over $20 for 3 toppings on a medium pizza. Granted, each slice was very dense, and naturally... filling, I still felt like I was being overcharged. Here's another quirk... they quoted an hour to hour-15 for our delivery. Yikes, that's pretty steep. I thought to myself, "if your pizza takes over an hour to get here, it better be brought by a stripper who shakes some tail as she announces the toppings to the damn pizza! Good lord! that's a long time!" Well, the pizza arrived, it was pretty good... but not $20+ / 1 hr+ good. If you seriously want Chicago style pizza... ya know, all deep-dished out, then sure, hit up Patxi's and call it a day. If you're looking for normal, good 'ol pizza, hit up Nizario's. Similarly priced, but half the wait.
(3)sophie w.
so annoying! I should of known it from the second I walked in the door the "hostess" said sit where ever it wasn't going to work out. My boyfriend and I ordered a thin crust pepperoni 2 drinks and 2 waters. We get our drinks no water. About everyone in the restaurant has water but us. There's probably 12 people eating in the restaurant and about 5 waiters running around, obviously not doing much. It's stated on the menu allow 30-40 for thin crust pizza to bake..okay, 10,20,30,40,50 minutes go by a nondressed up man (Im assuming manager owners) squats down to table height and says, "sorry guys its gonna be a little longer. do you want a salad." Starved we took the free caesar salad that was tasty but not special at all, and wait another 15-20 minutes for our pizza to be made. ..THEY FORGOT OUR ORDER.. and didn't notice for 50 MINUTES.. finally got our pizza, it was pretty delicious but i was so mad and sick of hanging out in that little place for an hour with no pizza i could barely appreciate it. then we finish it in 10 minutes. ask for check..... as im signing my processed check... It was the wrong check......then the waitress goes back to fix it. almost 10 minutes go by... man comes over again, says sorry the systems down, we have your number you can go.. THanks ByE guys

The pizza here is always good, the deep dish or the regular New York. There salads are great as well.

As a friend and I got hungry while watching Sunday night football (...), we've decided to order take out pizza. I didn't want just any good old pizza, and suggested we should get some Chicago-style deep dish! (funny my friend never had it before!!) Did some searches online and found Patxi's highly recommended by fellow yelpers, so I called and ordered the 10" Caliente. We were told that the pie would take 30 minutes to cook, so we drove over to the Hayes after 30 minutes. Went into the restaurant and saw that the restaurant was quite busy - lucky to have called in a take out :). Walked right through the dinning area to the kitchen, and picked up the already done pie in no time. Now that we were home, we couldn't wait to dig in! The 10" pie was cut into 6 slices - enough to feed 3 people. We got the Caliente, so there was just the right amount of kick. The "stuffing", sauce, and cheese were delicious, and the side crust was light and flaky. The bottom crust, however, was too soft and doughy for my taste, though I think ordering the same pie dine-in to have it served in the hot pan would have solved the problem. For $25.04, this pie is definitely worth another try ;)

some of the best pizza in the city!
(5)Dario B.
I kindly accepted a gift certificate that the owner offered us to prove that their pizza has made a huge improvement since my last visit. I have to say, first of all thank you to him as this was a nice gesture, and second that the pizza really has improved, in a good delicious way. A proof of that is that we had to wait quite a while before getting a seat and people kept coming in. It is indeed a good sign that Patcxi has more than redeemed itself. So, the pizza is still on the "heavy" side...and yes, we were still kinda bloated after two slices but I believe, now, that this is the legacy of deep dish (although to be honest Lou Malnati in Chicago never got us bloated even after 4 slices). The tomato sauce is way less garlicky and seasoned than last time and it is a huge improvement to us. Other aspects of the business that seemed quite unbalanced are the service and the sodas. I know sodas are mixed with tap water but maybe adding a filtering unit to remove chlorine would be a nice thing to do...the Sprite tasted like it was spiked with water from a pool. The service seemed a little clunky and the servers seemed to not have a system. Everyone was doing everything and felt overstaffed. So, Yelp 3 stars says it is "OK", 4 is a "yay, i'm a fan" I'd stick with 3...they're OK, and I'll definitely go back if we crave a deep-dish. Thank you again for the certificate, it was a pleasure and a nice dinner as well.

Me likey! Paxti's offers a nice alternative to the brick oven thin crust pizza joints that have invaded the Bay Area. We ordered the pan pizza with sausage and olives. As much as I would have loved to have tried the "stuffed" pizza, there was no way I could have eaten that without falling into a food coma on my second slice (having spent a few months living in Chicago...I know of what I speak). The pizza was good, quite good and the crust, which I normally leave behind, was DIVINE. Yum. It's oh so buttery and incredibly good with that crunchy cornmeal crust. For all those folks on Atkins, this crust will make you fall off the wagon! I thought the pan pizza was a perfect compromise between the thin crust and deep dish options. I didn't find it heavy or dense. If a pan pizza could be described as light, this would be it. There are plenty of fresh toppings to choose from, especially for those that are picky or have dietary restrictions. We also split a Greek salad - cucumbers, onions, bell peppers, tomatos, olives, feta and romaine with a red wine vinaigrette. The salad was well dressed and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. A nice refreshing start to our meal. Service was great - the staff was super friendly, especially our waiter. This place has a really fun vibe and is great for groups, families and small parties. Pizzas can be picked up for dining elsewhere, but I would strongly suggest that the initial bite be taken while dining there. You have eat it the way they meant for you to experience it! This location is on the small side so be prepared for a bit of a wait during the busy hours. Parking was a breeze. The menu is quite limited, so be prepared for pizza and salads. That's it.

This place, unfortunately, has lost me as a customer. I'm really disappointed. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for four years. We've been loyal customers, ordering up to 4 times a month, (sometimes even as often as twice a week) and always, at the very least, once a month. Over the past year, the quality of the pizza and the competency of the management seems to have declined. I couldn't put my finger on it at first, but one thing I noticed was an apathetic, "could care less" attitude from most of the staff that processes orders when you pick up. (One notable exception- a young woman who is very nice- Liz? and more recently, a black man who I wish I knew the name of- who gave us outstanding counter service recently.) I'm doing the business a favor by loyally supporting them, they aren't doing me a favor by waiting on me. The attitude is truly horrendous. In addition, over the last year, our orders have consistently been wrong. We've never said anything... It was usually a minor slip up, like forgetting pepperoni or the pizza not being warm at all. Then about a month ago, we picked up our pizza, brought it home, and it was burnt. The perplexing thing was that the girl at the counter had checked it- opened the box and shut it in front of us- and still let us leave with it! I called up, and the manager admittedly was very nice, and said he'd be sending out a $50 gift card for us to use in the future. At this point, I still had some hope in Paxti's. About 11 days passed with no sign of the gift card, and we were wanting a pizza. I call up and explain the situation and the manager offers to print up a new one that we could use. (Whether the original gift card ever nailed out, that I don't know.) We place our order and subsequently, go to pick it up. We get home, it is the wrong pizza. Thin crust instead of Chicago style; pesto added when we didn't ask. At this point I'm honestly shocked, and call up to explain. The manager seemed embarrassed and we had a lengthy conversation. He agreed to re-credit my gift card for another medium pizza- although at this point, I was no longer satisfied with the outcome We order again a few days later- pizza was OK with no issues. Which brings me to tonight (if you're still reading this review, Paxti's should give you a free slice for putting up with me.) We placed an order, and go to pick it up. First off, the person who handled our transaction (a short man with dark hair..NOT the two nice people I mentioned previously, although they were both working, and were the only people to acknowledge us) was incredibly rude. No hello, no thank you? Nothing. The attitude from these people is astounding. So, we get the pie home and it's just mushy. I don't know if it was undercooked but the crust was soggy and it was falling apart. Not to mention- the man who processed our order rudely snapped at another worker to fetch our pie for us. It took her forever, like she couldn't find it. Meanwhile, if you've ever gone in to pick up a pie there, you know it's just a nightmare of logistics, with servers, delivery drivers, and managers constantly asking you to step aside and feeling like you're in the way. So that's it. Neither me nor my partner can imagine ever spending another dime at Paxti's. No doubt, we spend at least $500 a year there, and we are by no means rich. Dining out is a treat for people like us... I think it's finally time we bring our money to a business that can appreciate it. (Addendum: this was sitting as a draft in my yelp account for a few weeks.)

For the longest time, I was hesitant to try Patxi's, so sure that it would not come close to touching my favorite pizza place, if not, restaurant, Little Star. I was right. It didn't. But it does give Little Star a good run for its money, particularly in the deep dish department. I've had the pan/deep dish at Noe Valley and the thin and extra-thin crust here at their Hayes Valley location. At either restaurant, the service was excellent. While their thin crust variations aren't bad (the thin is too doughy; opt for the extra-thin), their pan pizza is definitely better--a good thing, because there are many other local pizzerias that excel in thin crust. I'm not a deep dish fan to begin with, but I won't deny that I wouldn't consider coming back here for their pan if I suddenly had a craving for it. (You just can't beat a good cornmeal style crust.) Having had a true stuffed Chicago pizza, I knew trying Patxi's stuffed would leave me too stuffed with all those layers, so I decided against ordering it. A small pan pizza is perfect for two. I especially enjoyed the Californian combo (the onions give it a nice kick), and would be interested in trying this as a pan pizza, rather than an extra-thin. One thing I noticed is that regardless of what style you order, Patxi's loves packing on the cheese. It's almost too much. And it separates from the crust too easily; you're left holding a slice of dough and tomato sauce. I'm glad that they do offer non-dairy cheese and vegan pizza, but the whole Daiya cheese thing is getting out of hand. I love eating the shredded versions from the supermarket straight out of its packet, sparingly, but slathering it to cover a whole pie (a deep dish, at that), baked, doesn't sound too appealing. If you haven't had Daiya before, it turns into a fat glob of oily mess once it's melted, worse than regular, dairy cheese. An extra-thin crust vegan pizza (i.e., one with minimal cheese) might be passable. It does melt easily, though, which is why I suspect most restaurants use it. However you slice it, cheese is one type of food that just doesn't have a decent vegan replica. In reality, I'd give them a 3.5. But I'll give Patxi's the benefit of the doubt. Their pizza and/or service wasn't so horrendous that I wanted to hoof it to LS for a redemption meal (Pizzeria Delfina-Mission, Pauline's, Pizza Nostra, I'm talking to you).

Love deep dish pizza! This hit the spot after Bay to Breakers -- seriously those carbs saved my life. Tried it with the hot copa inside, didn't really feel the need for it. A little too much meat for me with the additional copa inside, since each slice is already so big and thick. It literary is eating a pizza pie, one slice will make you full, and 2 slices will make you fuller! Wish they had a deep dish pizza place on the East Bay side! Tip: If the weather is nice outside, take the pizza to go and sit at the little park about 20 yards away. There's tables and places you can sit. Also, if you have room, there's a cute ice cream place around the corner!

Ahh deep dish pizza. It was good nothing spectacular. Boy i miss Uno's.

Having grown up in the Chicago area, I have been a lifelong Lou Malnati's pizza devotee. However, since moving to the Bay area, I have found Zachary's in the East Bay, and now Patxi's, conveniently located a ten minute drive away from home. I've had Patxi's bookmarked for at least a year now, but I finally decided to try it out last night. I was a bit worried about the parking situation in that neighborhood on a Saturday night, and I was a little worried that we'd have to wait forever. Well, we scored parking less than two blocks away, and got to the restaurant just in time to beat the evening rush. We still had to wait a bit, but they let us pre-order our food, so less than ten minutes after being seated our food was at the table. Yay! We ordered an appetizer thin crust cheese pizza for the kid, and hubby and I shared a 12" sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms (mushrooms only on my half. He hates them and says they taste like 'dirt'). Oh, and we also split a spinach salad. Our pizza was excellent. Very cheesy and saucy. I like my crust a little more buttery, but it was still good. I was full on just one piece, and the hubby had two, so we have enough left over for dinner tonight. Yeah! Everyone at Patxi's is super friendly, and our server (I think his name was Josh) was very attentive and kept checking on us even though it was really busy. In general I'm a thin crust kinda girl, but I like to compare places that claim they have great Chicago-style pizza. And Patxi's definitely came close to the mark, although I do like Zachary's a bit more, and NOTHING will ever replace my Lou Malnati's! I'll have to try Little Star next.

So me and my friends miss 'Uno pizza' back in the day so we looked for deep dish pizza place - we found it! The deep-dish pizza here is DELICIOUS! Took a little long to make ie. 30 mins but my friends also agreed was worth the wait! Service was good. Will definitely come back...nom nom nom

I was quickly contacted by Patxi's after my "Vegan Fail" review and am happy to say it is now a "Vegan win." Again, I totally understand that places run out of things from time time - but as a vegan, sometimes it is a sore spot. Patxi's smoothed over the sore spot by making right with us. They contacted me and invited us back - with an AMAZING vegan pie. We had the cornmeal crust, Daiya, broc, garlic and toms. It was one of the best pizzas I have had. And the service was awesome. I am also impressed their Director of Operations is looking into fixing the process - preventing other vegans from a similar experience we had. Many many thanks to Patxi's. We are fans again and will TOTALLY be back!!!!!

I had placed an order the other night online and an accident happened and my pizza hit the floor. They called to let me know of the delay, but refunded my charge but gave me a credit for a free pizza another time. They not only know how to make a great pizza but they know how to treat their customers well. I have never had a pizza place do that ever. thank you.

GF-DF for life!
(5)Christopher S.
I'm from Chicago and I can say this is the best pizza I've had in San Francisco. Great deep dish and stellar thin crust too. My girlfriend is the true tester and she absolutely loves it as well.

This restaurant has become less and less a neighborhood friendly restaurant and more like a chain. They are completely dismissive of neighbors. I live around the corner and when I walk in they offer a pizza for pick up in 20 minutes and a pizza for delivery in an hour. The menu has changed over the past year to eliminate healthier options like the fresh bowl and the extra thin crust whole wheat. This place is no longer on my list. Disappointing, but the great thing about SF is that they will quickly and easily be replaced.
(1)Mama L.
Finally a decent deep dish pizza place in the City! Not as good as Zachary's in the East Bay, but there is no hour long wait either. Fresh pizzas take 30 minutes to cook, so call in your order to eliminate the wait!

Well this is should say the "new and improved" Patxis reveiw! Well as far as a friday night pizza stops, I must say it is a popular one. If you don,t want to deal with the 45 minute wait or circle the neighborhood for and equally impressive amount of time, than Patxis is the place for you! I honestly recommend it. The eager to please and very polite staff, go out of their way to welcome you. if you are waiting for a table make sure you sign in. you are urged to have a seat at the bar until your name is called. I don,t recommend parties fo more than three are four, since the tables are not really designed family size groups. The space is loud with mammoth flap screens blairing ESPN sports highlights and noisy conversation. But the deep dish pizza is especially rewarding, the taste and texture an detail to ingredients are worth the trip. I took notice that they do a of delivery. maybe I,ll give that a shot next time!

This Paxti's location is spreading itself too thin. (Ironic, given that it is a thick crust Chicago style pizza joint!) On a Friday at 6:30pm, we snagged one of the last tables. Our friendly and helpful server made some good recommendations, a Tilia Chardonnay that was the cheaper of the two offered (!!!) and a small Greek Salad (rather than the large we were going to order). The Greek Salad was ok but consisted of mostly of red peppers mixed in with cucumbers and feta. Olives and more lettuce please! We looked up and we were in the middle of Grand Central Station. Next stop: Pizza Disenchantment! The take out and pre-ordering was in the back of the room. Add an ever increasing number of customers and delivery guys walking back and forth in the dining room and lined up along the walls and what you have is a HOT MESS. This unfortunately was reflected in the usually good Chicago style deep dish pizza. This night, it had been taken out about 10 min. too early and was doughy. It also had basil stems that had been inadvertently tossed in. One thing that I did like was how the pizza halves were designated on the bill. This liberal's side of the pizza was appropriately designated as the LEFT. (Basil and Tomatoes) The moderate's side of the pizza was labeled as the RIGHT. (Overly dry Chicken, Black Olives, and Mushrooms) At least we agreed on one thing: GARLIC. Note to Self: Next time go to Paxti's larger Marina location or order delivery! ---------------- UPDATE 3/2011: Paxti's 52 Weeks of Giving = Very Cool! patxispizza.com/52weeks/…

I usual love Patxis but I ate there on 6/7/13. Had a Butterleaf lettuce salad and shared a "Favorite" deep dish. The pizza was delicious as usual but I came home and had major GI illness- it had to have been the salad because my companion did not get ill. Food borne illness is not easy to pin point but I can be 99.9% sure because of my strange eating habits- On most days I only eat prepackaged powder supplements mixed with water all day except for one meal. This was my one meal. And I have no food allergies and been eating like this for over 4 months, so I know it was this meal.
(1)Steve T.
The service was slow, we arrive before the big party but was served after them. but the deep dish is the way to go
(3)Jen F.
Had heard about Patxi's through the vegan grapevine and was dying to try some deep dish pizza! (Disclaimer: I have never had any Chicago style pizza before, much less vegan, but I had an omni midwesterner with me for backup.) Vegans - be aware that the soy cheese listed on the menu has casein. They do serve Daiya now as well, but it's not on the menu. (Daiya is not made from soy, but I'm used to people calling any vegan cheese soy cheese.....) So I ordered the soy cheese deep dish and a salad with vegan dressing. The very on-top-of-his-game server noted this and asked if I was vegan and gave me the 411 on the non-cow cheese situation. SO, be sure to ask for Daiya. Salad tasted great. Nothing special, but I was dying for some green veg! It was fresh and lightly dressed with a few onions, tomatoes and mushrooms. The pizza was huge for 10"... after splitting the large salad, the bf and I only ate half of it and were stuffed. He really liked it but said that the Daiya had the wrong consistency for real Chicago style and said maybe Teese would be better? I will take his word for it. Bonus! They had Bid Daddy IPA on draft, which is definitely in my top 10 IPAs. They also have some deals ($1 PBR / free soda w/ your meal) for you peeps who do foursquare, so check that out. Good food, quick and friendly (and vegan-aware!) servers, big box of leftovers. The only real negative was that the acoustics are TERRIBLE, so don't go there thinking you're gonna whisper sweet nothings at your beloved. I would definitely make the trip back here on another visit to SF.

Amazing Pizza, horrible everything else. Not sure what happened, but they used to be awesome. I went online to order a 10" Special, which is one of their signature pizzas. I ordered it at 4:30, to be ready by 5:30. I knew it was Friday night, so I even gave them an additional 10 minutes and got there at 5:40 to pick up the pizza, only to be told, with no apology, no offer of anything, that it would not be ready for at least 15 minutes. So my pizza, that was ordered at 4:30, was not ready until 6. The pizza of course is amazing and we love it so much, so that's why they can get away with being poor customer service people, but come on! Get your act together! Even if you're late, be a human being and apologize, know the circumstances and make an apologetic gesture. Just because your food is awesome, doesn't mean you can slack on everything else. Disappointed.
(1)Lauren F.
Not gonna lie, I was a little skeptical about this place. I'm generally a fan of thin, crispy crust on my pizza, and had never really had Chicago-style pizza that was anything to write home about. This place is delicious. It takes a while to get your pizza -- about 45 minutes if you order the deep dish. We ordered the Meat Lovers and it was awesome. I could only eat 2 pieces, and it made wonderful leftovers. Yum yum yum.
(4)Susie W.
somehow my wheat crust deep dish with sausage and mushrooms has had this strange effect. I ordered a small wheat crust pizza to feel somewhat virtuous vs the cornmeal crust - pure decadence. By the time the pizza had arrived I'd enjoyed a bit of wine which only enhanced the pure pizza pleasure - pungeant pasty tomato sauce, a wheat crust that combined the best of a freshly baked wheat loaf with pizza crust, and so much cheese I must have achieved 3 days worth of calcium into the 2 slices I managed to pack away. Paxti's is all abuzz on a Wednesday night, friendly efficient service and best yet I did what I wanted and worked on my laptop chillin with the wine while waiting for my pizza. All in all a great experience puncutated with getting to whistle to The Young Folks. It's a very comfortable place if you're eating alone, with seating by the window and lots of little tables. I threw the leftovers in the box in the freezer as is and a week later, they heated up perfectly thus making it frightengly tempting to get larger sized pizzas to freeze. Very nice.
(5)Andrea N.
The deep dish pizza looked SO good at this place, but sadly we never got to try it, as our order got totally messed up last night. 40 minutes after ordering, they brought out the wrong pizza. If it would have been any other wrong pizza, we probably could have rallied, but this one just didn't work - it had sausage (we had a vegetarian at the table), onions & bell peppers (hate them both). We did not have 40 more minutes to wait for the correct deep dish to be made because we had tickets to a show. They apologized, quickly made us a thin crust pizza, gave us a discount & gift card. Still very disappointing as we all had our hearts set on the deep dish...
(2)Angella S.
Leftover pizza crust for breakfast. YAAYYY!!! Make that leftover wheat crust. Uh-huh! Life doesn't get any better. For the record, it's not the best deep dish. I ordered a Californian and it was rather salty and missed the mark on flavor. I do like the menu choices (wheat crusts, soy cheese, and all). And in case you're the ta-ta type, they have wine so you can salud with your pinky up. Overall, it's a cas-cool vibe. Are there better pizza places in SF? Of course. Deep dish? I'm sure. But this girl cannot complain; after a long day of climbing, Patxi's pizza and beer hit the spot.
(4)Brandon A.
I'm not really sure if the people reviewing this place have had one too many or what the deal is but I find the pizzas to be very very bland! The crust has a great bite to it but not really any flavor, the sauce I feel the same way...then add in a 45 minute wait...ha!
(2)Michelle L.
We ventured to Hayes Valley and had the privilege of experiencing Chicago Style Pizza at Patxi's. The pizza we had was gourmet every step of the way - chorizo, bacon, and pineapple stuffed in Patxi's homemade crust and tomato sauce. Two of us shared a 12" pizza and had extra slices to bring home. Our waitress was as friendly as could be and the restaurant itself felt inviting and cozy on a rainy San Francisco day. While the pizza was delicious and interesting, when we got the bill we saw that the price was around $30. Granted, it fed two of us and was a delicious pizza, but at the end of the day it's just pizza. It was on the smaller side when it comes to slices, and the usual foodie will look at me like I'm crazy for bitching about the price. I just can't fathom the idea of a $30, 12 inch pie of pizza.
(3)Justin I.
yup it's amazing! I moved here from Seattle and loved pagliacci pizza, but this is hard to compete with. The sauce is over the top some of the best I have ever had. Def a must!!!!!
(5)J K.
It was okay. Maybe 2.5 stars. I felt obligated to order the thick crust pan pizza, so I did. The roasted chicken topping was overcooked and dry, but at least the extra sauce helped it go down. It's like what they say about pizza... though this one was a little better than many. We also ordered the Fresh Bowl, which is basically an assortment of raw veggie sticks/slices and some grapes with a bowl of dressing. Nothing special, but we wanted some veggies, and regretted ordering it. The baby carrots were so dry that it looked like they'd been uncovered in the fridge for a couple of days. The worst part of our meal was the wait times. Despite the menu saying that it takes 25-30 minutes for a pan pizza, it took about 50 minutes for us to get it from the time we ordered. They were busy, but still had a few empty tables when we ordered. I think the backlog comes from take out orders and people in the know pre-ordering their pie. The staff have super friendly attitudes, but are forgetful. Also, I tried to give my check and credit card to another server but he just ignored me. Finally I went up to pay at the counter, and they wanted me to leave the check and credit card there and offered to bring it back to my table. No way, I waited long enough. I'd like to pay now please! The pizza's decent, but the (lack of) service is definitely problematic. I can't see myself returning anytime soon.
(2)Tonie G.
Always get our order right and always give the perfect amount of cheese. I LOVE THIS PIZZA! Try the all meat, I have a meat tooth and this pizza always hits the spot. One of the best deep dish Chicago Style Pizza's on the West Coast!
(5)Rena H.
so effing delicious! The crust is buttery and crunchy/crackery and the toppings flavorful and plentiful. I LOVE the Matt Cain deep dish... a 10"(small)can feed me and my 2 best work gurts 2 slices each and we are STUFFED afterwards. Delivery takes forever using grub hub, but it always arrives hot and fresh to my office in the FiDi. Total plus is that he always comes upstairs and doesn't make me meet him on the street, like a lot of the delivery drivers in SF.
(5)Jon B.
HEAVY pizza. Good deep dish. Decent prices. I still don't have any idea how to pronounce the name of the place, but I would like to learn. Ordered a Chicago Stuffed Special Pizza (sausage, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers) on their wheat dough for lunch at work. For a large 16" pizza, the price came to just over $30. Not bad at all for a deep dish. You can't get a regular pizza delivered for less than that. I did the order online and they had it ready right when the website said it would be. The workers there were very friendly and helpful. Doing my check ins I also found that they participate in foursquare. Mayors get free pizza once a week i think! TIP-- IF YOURE PICKING UP, DONT TAKE THE PIZZA HOME RIGHT OUT OF THE OVEN! LET IT CHILL FOR A BIT!! I got the pizza back to work and found that the ingredients had shifted quite a bit. =/ The pizza was still so hot that nothing had really set yet. Luckily I didn't mess it up too bad though, and was still able to enjoy the what seemed like 20 pound monstrosity. Well, part of it anyways. I was pretty full after eating only one slice, and felt overstuffed long before I finished slice two. It is seriously that dense. That pizza will last two people a minimum of two days. The pizza luckily tasted just as good as it looked. The wheat crust was done well-- wheat flavor without tasting too healthy or like anything was missing. There was plenty of cheese and toppings stuffed inside. The sausage was quality stuff, not the usual sprinkled premade nuggets. The sauce had a good consistency and wasn't too heavy, a good thing since the rest of the pizza is so heavy. Parking is kind of a pain in the area, but I will definitely be back again. The local Little Star isn't open for lunch until something like three oclock, so Patxi's has the weekend lunchtime market cornered. Good thing theyre actually good and not just the only guys around.
(4)Chapman S.
I'm still pretty new to San Francisco and was looking for a place to eat pizza with a friend that was visiting. This was the closest place to where we were currently wandering and it turned out to be a good find. I don't usually get Chicago style deep-dish pizza but "the favorite" (pepperoni, black olives, mushroom) was delicious and the beer was pretty good too. The two of us split the small (for 2-3 people) and I still got to take home a slice which I enjoyed the following day. Thanks Patxi (however you pronounce that...)! Oh, and it can take up to 45 minutes for your pizza to cook; so be prepared to wait a little bit if you're just dropping by from the street.
(4)Gabrielle L.
Yummm deep dish pizza with tomato sauce on the top. I got the lunch special here and it was delicious. One slice of deep dish pizza (I went for the vegetarian with mushrooms and black olives), a salad (I got the garden, but the other choice was caesar), and a fountain soda for $9.99. Not bad considering how delicious and filling the food was. The pizza crust was crunchy and delicious, and had a hint of salt to it that I actually really liked. The salad was a pretty big portion and not exactly what I'd expect (it was loaded with mushrooms, and was kinda hard to get to the lettuce under all that), but it was tasty and I liked it. I had heard about Patxi's for a while, but had never gotten the chance to go. I love Little Star so wasn't sure if I would like it, but I would definitely come back here again!
(4)Christina O.
Thanks to Patxi's I had my very first deep dish pizza! :) Came in this past Friday, the place was packed, and there was a 40 min wait, which was fine considering how bad I wanted to try it LOL ahhhh I was excited! I really liked the fact that we were able to order as soon as we got there. Waiter suggested we try the bar across the street to pass time, which helped :) Once the 40 min was up we were seated and it wasn't too long until our pizza arrived Garlic, Sausage, & Mushroom, mmm!!! That thing looked great, sitting so high on that platter, thick, hot, I could go on, but overall it was yummy! I love their crust, it was perfect crispy on the edge, soft on the inside. Me and my two girls ordered the serving for 3, which ended up being more than enough! The left overs came in handy when I woke up the next morning thinking about Patxis, 8am threw it in the microwave & enjoyed myself all over again.
(4)Nicholas M.
How good is Patxi's, really? It's 10:30am and I just ate a cold, random slice from the work fridge.
(4)Sam Y.
i wish i was six inches tall and that their pizzas had a diving board.
(5)Jason A.
The bad really outweighs the good of Patxi's. The good is fresh tasting ingredients with the option of whole wheat dough. The bad is undercooked pizzas, tangy pizza sauce and way too much cornmeal on the bottom of the pie. The thin pizzas were a lot better although it had a pretty hard crust. Almost like those crackers that shatter when you bite into it. Little Star is a far better option for the thick pizzas and Pauline's for the thin ones.
(3)Sonya Z.
the kind of pizza you will never finish but that tastes amazing cold and after 2 days of refrigeration, so you can have it for every meal until its gone. i like to call this place Patsy's. my boyfriend's company gets this delivered every week and he always brings one home for us to gorge on in our own time. thanks, patsy!
(4)Dave C.
A great addition to the neighborhood! Severely deep dish pizza is excellent, even if not true to its Chicago origins. And they offer a thin crust alternative for those who prefer a little less carb with their toppings! Very family friendly, but also a great place for sports. Good beers on tap, AND of keen interest to this wine merchant is their use of the tap concept for their wine list as well, though I'd prefer to see better wines available by the glass. We've used their take-out service on a number of occasions, and it is now our go-to pizza delivery service. We've had some inconsistencies in the product, but overall we are very pleased. Rivals Little Star and better than Zachary's, in our opinoin.
(4)Christine M.
There is nothing, nothing, nothing that I can say bad about this place. The pizza is phenomenal. The servers are friendly and professional. My only hope is that after eating here, they will deliver to my house....
(5)Maria D.
No point comparing it to Little Star. Completely different places. LSP: First or second date kind of place (if you are a hipster or want to look cool and not take your date to the usual tired date places), stylish, champagne cocktails, dark & sexy. You will be too full to have sex, but you'll still want to. Paxti's: Suburban, asexual, really bright, better suited for take out (for when you and the SO have moved in together and the only threesome you have is with Mariska Hargitay or Jenna Fishcer via compulsive DVR viewing) or a casual lunch during the day with a pal while out in Hayes. Family oriented. The place you'll watch "the game". Paxti's gets the extra star for having slices during the day. As a single girl, there is no excuse for spending the cash on a pizza just for myself, especially when I am very Busy & Important and leftovers rarely get eaten. So, I apreciate this place for knowing that some of us just want a SLICE, not a whole pie. As much as it begrudges me to agree with Omid, the crust is buttery and thus, perfect. Cornmeal is nice, but not always what I want. This is a perfect alternative.
(4)Marcus P.
After reading about this place online and hearing about it from friends, I thought I would give it go. First off, let me say that I am not a big fan of Chicago style deep dish pizza. After eating Zachary's (East Bay) pizza over the years, I found their pizza heavy and lacking flavor. I didn't let this past experience cloud my opinion when I went to Patxi's one Friday evening. First we waited about an 90 minutes for our table (had a 'large party of 6'). During our wait, we stood outside until it got too cold then shifted inside for a pint. It was there that the waiting area at the window was already crowded with people, so we resorted to standing against the wall...seemingly in the way of the waitstaff- and they all seemed pissed off. What do you expect it's Friday night??!?! While we waited, they offered us a 'square' of the thin crust cheese pizza. Quite tasty. Good use of cornmeal and flavorful sauce. Thumbs up. When we finally got seated. They crammed us into 2 tables that would normally accommodate 4 diners. We were definitely eating shoulder to shoulder. We ordered a Greek Salad. Now if you like red peppers, order this salad, as there are nothing but red peppers covered in feta. We were wondering if they forgot to put greens on the plate! The Cesar Salad was much better (plate was cleaned!) Now for the pizzas. We ordered 2 deep dishes: the Spinach Pesto and the Special (sausage, mushrooms, onions, {sans peppers}). Both were thick with sauce (typical of Chicago deep dish) and lacking in flavor. I think the sauce really just drowns out the fillings as there is so much of it compared to the fillings. Once again, I am disappointed. Overall, not the best pizza or experience. I don't think I will be running back there for the deep dish any time soon. Now the thin crust...perhaps!
(2)aaron f.
If you're in the east bay, you go to Zachary's. If you're in the city, it's Patxi's. Zachary's is a 5 star deep dish. Patxi's is a 4 star deep dish. The wait at Zachary's for a table is bonkers. The wait at Patxi's is not usually so terrible. The service is good at both restaurants considering the length of time it takes to make what they serve. If you want very good deep dish in the city, go ahead and make the worthwhile trip to Patxi's, but if you want pizza on par with what you can get in Chicago proper, you best be on the other side of the bay.
(4)Adam W.
Probably the best pizza, ever. Get the chicago / deep dish (cheese/toppings on the inside, sauce on the outside). The eatery is ok but a bit hot and cramped - much better is to order the "half baked" pizza and take it home (or get it delivered) and then pop it in your oven. Gotta be the only time that a product being half-baked is considered a selling point.
(5)Dana H.
Patxi's provides SF residents with a solid and affordable alternative to crossing the Bay Bridge and paying a toll to wait around for Zachary's. The pie at Patxi's is not quite as good as Zachary's, but it is way closer to my house and the wait is not nearly as long. I have only been to the Hayes Valley location which is pretty small, but I hear that the Marina location is much bigger. When you walk in the place smells great - you instantly get that great pizza parlor smell that makes your mouth start to water. We called in our pizza early and then walked over, so by the time we were seated our pizza was almost ready. Everything tasted great (although the crust was not quite as buttery and flaky as Zachary's) but the pizza was not as hot as I would have liked. When I get deep dish, I want the server to have to deal with all the melty cheese strands that come off of each slice as I am getting a pizza facial when the pie comes to the table. Patxi's slices were a little too tidy, but it could have been an off night. Overall a good addition to the neighborhood and beats trekking over to the East Bay just for deep dish.

I came here with my beau after having had two dinners already. We ordered a pie with some sausage, mushrooms and onions on it. It came out promptly and we devoured it quickly despite the 2 meals prior to this one. This place is a keeper. We'll be back for sure!

My friends and I were wandering and shopping around Hayes Valley when our stomachs synchronized and growled simultaneously. We skimmed the area for restaurants and Patxi's was the only one that appealed to us. We were seated after about 20 minutes of waiting because the place is quite small but cozy. We opted not to order the thick crusted Chicago style pizza because we usually discard the outer edge part of a pizza where there aren't any toppings. But as other patron's Chicago style pizza came out of the oven, we realized that we should have ordered the thicker crusted pizza. There will be another opportunity, I'm gonna make sure of it. We split the pizza in half...half of the veggie and half of the special. Both are equally delicious and filled with mouth watering flavor.

Came here with a friend and my Groupon. Left completely satisfied. Both of us have lived in Chicago, and we thought this was good, tasty deep dish. It may not quite be Lou Malnati's, as some other former Chicagoans on here have mentioned, but we're in San Francisco and we don't have to deal with blustery subzero winters here ... so, there's that. I have to admit, I'm generally not impressed with West Coast attempts at pizza as mentioned in my other reviews, but Patxi's is an exception. We started by splitting a small garden salad with blue cheese dressing. Greens and grape tomatoes were nice and fresh. Good croutons. Totally delicious. Ordered the Spinach Pesto - Chicago style for the main course. Yum. Not overly spinach-y as I sometimes found to be an issue at a few pizza shops in Chicago, and the pesto served as a nice accompaniment. Topped with a fresh-tasting tomato sauce and bolstered by a strong foundation of cheese and crust, my hunger pangs quickly subsided as I downed two full slices. I found the service and ambiance to be far superior to Little Star. There was no wait at 8ish on a Monday, the wait staff was friendly and attentive, and while I like a good divey restaurant from time to time, I prefer the cleaner, brighter feel of this space to the dinginess of Little Star. Patxi's, I will definitely be back for more! In the meantime, looking forward to reheating my leftovers ...

Paxti's = Mark Wahlberg Little Star = Ashton Kutcher If I never had Little Star, then I might really like Paxti's. But you really can't compare the two. Save yourself the disappointment and just head directly to Little Star.

Better than Little Star, not as good as Zachary's. I love that they offer healthier pizza ingredients-- low fat mozzarella, soy cheese, and whole wheat crust. My bf and I ordered a Chicago style pizza with mushrooms, pepperoni, black olives, low fat mozzarella, and whole wheat crust. The mushrooms and pepperoni were sandwiched between layers of mozzarella cheese, and topped with a thin layer of tomato sauce and black olives. I prefer less cheese and more tomato sauce on my pizzas, but the whole wheat crust was delicious. Chicago pizzas take about 30-40 minutes in the oven, so there was a slow turnover rate. Luckily, we beat the dinner rush by getting there before 6pm. Otherwise, I recommend ordering take-out or calling in to place an order ahead of time.

Delicious chorizo deep dish pizza! And delicious blue cheese butter lettuce salad, too.

Little Star and Patxi are different and I like them both. Patxi is more cheese forward while Little Star is more sauce forward. Since I like pizza like Whoah both of these essential ingredients are of the utmost importance to my little taste buds (actually they're pretty tough, not so little really, kind of dominating actually). Patxi, however, is a little less quirky. They don't got that great jukebox that Little Star has, and the crowd is less hip and more family. However, Patxi is open for lunch and little star is not. Patxi also serves slices. That's right, they serve Chicago style pizza by the slice. This is an obvious score for them. So, in the long run, I like both places, but Patxi is cheaper and closer to my house, so it wins for now.

If this place represents Chicago pizza.. I won't be going to Chicago for pizza. I love deep dish but I found it to have way too much tomato sauce. The deep dish here was not my kind of thing - just my opinion. My advice here though- don't come here if you are super hungry! The pizza takes approximately 30-40 mins. to make. I think I will stick to Delfina Pizzeria and Za ...

Boss brought us a deep dish from here the other and it was sooooo goooood. Deep dish came loaded with hot melted cheese and the sauce was one of a kind. The crust was gooood to and baked to a perfection. Writing about it makes my mouth water and I can't wait to have another slice!

Well, I happen to be gluten-free, so of course I was ecstatic to find out they do have a crust that is not only gluten-free, but also dairy-free. When a paper-thin crust arrived with a layer of fake mozzarella cheese about an inch thick, and the waiter saw my speechless demeanor and intense disappointment, he immediately sent over the manager. The manager had a new pizza made to my specifications. It was so delicious. I didn't expect to get anything for free, yet the manager didn't charge me anything. I would definitely recommend Patxi's to anyone - it is impossible to find customer service like that, let alone a chain dedicated to making an alternative thing on the menu right (and delicious) for the increasing number of people who are gluten-free, dairy-free, and/or vegan. I will definitely come again for the expensive gluten-free, dairy-free pizza with friends, no worries there:) Thank you again!

I stumbled into Patxi's and had the spinach stuffed pizza. One slice later, I was ordering a second. Fantastic spot with a good beer selection, too.

Being a big fan of both Rocco's in Tucson and Mangia in Austin, I checked Patxi's out for lunch during my quick stay in SF on the recommendation of a couple of friends of mine. I'd have to say that even though it ranks last on my list, it's still damn good. I ordered the $9.99 lunch deal (salad, slice and drink). The Caesar Salad that came out was enormous and could have easily been a meal by itself. The slice was one of their vegetarian varieties, with sun-dried tomato, spinach, and feta. Absolutely no complaints there, as it was delicious and quite filling. The service was prompt and friendly, too. I plan on making many return trips to the Bay Area, and will be back to Patxi's. So why is it last on my list? Through no fault of its own, really, as it's very good, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Rocco's is simply freakin' phenomenal, and I am just partial to Mangia's sauce.

Good sauce, not as tangy as Zachery's and the crust could use some cornmeal. Patxi's thin crust is quite good. If you are new to deep dish or stuffed Chicago style pizza - prepare to wait. As a Chicagoan and a deep dish pizza aficionado, this is a Californification of deep dish - healthful topping choices like pineapple, soy cheese, and whole wheat crust, which would not be found nor available on a 'za in the greater Chicagoland area. The restaurant in Hayes Valley is cozy and table wait times ran much longer than quoted both times we checked out Patxi's (this is an extremely difficult art to master - the precision of quoted table waits).

Surprisingly good deep dish for a place outside Chicago -- I'm always a bit weary, but this place was pretty legit. Like some of the other reviewers, I probably wouldn't have even bothered if it wasn't for a great Groupon deal I got. I'm glad I did. In my three visits, I've had two Spinach-Pesto pies (great) and an individual slice of the Veggie (mediocre). In both cases, the crust was excellent, and the sauce:cheese:crust ratio was very good as well. As is to be expected with deep dish, be prepared for a very heavy meal. Two slices should be enough to stuff the average person, so unless you're cool with leftovers, make sure you have enough people to share with (2-3 for the 10 inch, 3-4 for the 16 inch, etc.). If you don't have a big appetite and are looking for a single slice, I wouldn't bother coming here. Given that it's likely just being reheated, it's not going to be up to par. I can't speak for the staff/service, as I've always called in and ordered my pies to-go. Patricia's Green is just around the corner on Octavia, and has plenty of benches and tables to eat at if the weather is decent (just be sure to get some cutlery!). This is also convenient since you can avoid the 35-45 minute wait to get your food, and still enjoy "eating out".

Never have i ever... had a better pizza than Patxis. I haven't been to stupid ass chicago before, but i have had my fair share of good pizzas. Patxi's is easily the best. Dont listen to all these fuck-knuckles claiming "it has too much cheese...". There is no such thing as too much cheese, thats absurd and offensive and insulting. Thank you Patxi's for giving me a reason to live... "Nothing beats a glass of ice-cold lemonade on a hot, hot summer afternoon" -David Westerfield

Saturday, 7:00PM. Is it on par with Zachary's from Berkeley or Little Star on Divisadero? +Games on the two, corner big screens (went during March Madness, CLUTCH that they had some of the games on!) +Good service Grubbed on: 1. Veggie special +Firm veggies, all retained flavors - Olives and mushrooms were not proportional to the other ingredients And then...? Yes, they're on par. Patxi's focuses more on the sauce as the main filler of the pie (compared to Zachary's who dumps layers of cheese) and it's just as good. I've never had native deep dish from the Chi but if it's anything like this, I'm game!

Conflicted about this place. I fully agree w/ the reviewers who endorse the high-quality pizza -- I too loved Patxi's thin-crust. After eating here for our 1st time last night, and before paying, the folks at my table commented amongst ourselves how much we'd love to come back here soon. The reason for the 3/5 star downgrade is their pricing scheme: (a) 3 of us (2 girls, 1 guy; adults) split their 8-piece 14" thin crust pizza and barely were full thereafter, despite the fact that Patxi's menu alleges it "serves 3-4". We hadn't begun the meal as ravenous, either. (b) several fairly standard optional toppings on their pizzas (e.g., chicken, pesto) have an asterisk designating "charged as two items". so the price on your pie can quickly add up. For instance, their menu states: "Spinach-Pesto Spinach, basil-garlic pesto and parmesan. Try it with chicken! (3)" That would make one think that this is a 3-item pizza. Or, even a 4-item pizza, if one remembers that the chicken's probably going to cost extra [in which case the "3" should be placed after the "parmesan" in the item description above -- but whatever]. However, given the asterisks (which are in a different section of the menu entirely), one gets charged for a 5-item pizza for this menu item. Voila, the pizza one thought was valued at 3-items, is now priced at $27.69 for 5-items. The food was great, and one could argue Patxi's is just being competitive with standard "SF pricing" for a high-caliber pizza...I just wish they were more up front on how their toppings are priced, rather than making one look at various parts of the menu & read between the lines to do the math (at least for the particular pizza we selected).

4 stars for their pizza, 1 star for their greek salad = 2.5 stars. My friend and I stopped here for lunch for a slice of their deep dish and shared a greek salad. The pizza was delicious, the salad, not so much. I hate to give this place such a low rating, but all I can remember is how nasty their greek salad was. Their greek salad is basically a bowl full of chopped up vegetables. Where was the lettuce? I think I might have had 3 pieces of lettuce. It seems like this greek salad is just on the menu to get rid of their extra veggies. There were huge pieces of tomatoes, green and red bell peppers that they barely chopped up. Lazy bastards. When the waiter came to take away our plates, he asked us how we enjoyed the food. My friend commented that we didn't really care for the salad. His response? Oh yeah, there's big veggies in there. The table next to us ordered a Cesar Salad that looked much better. I kept eyeing it with envy. Maybe next time.

Awesome Awesome Awesome. I was working the election and stopped by this place with my coworkers to eat dinner. They hooked us up with a anti pasta appetizer and I loved it. Pizza was especially delicious... the pesto with chicken and the favorite. The crust was delicious and compared to little star, this seemed a bit more traditional pizza crust. Pro law enforcement shout out as well, had to leave a great tip. Great date place as well or a place to unwind and drink.

I'm from NY, so it's no surprise that I like NY Style pizza, but then again, I love almost ALL pizza. It is my favorite thing to eat after all! So when I walked passed Patxi's and smelled the heavenly smell of oven fresh dough, cheese and meats, I HAD to come in! I opted for a slice of the daily special. Deep dish pesto chicken with red onion. It was VERY VERY good and I normally don't like pesto. I also ordered a small spinach salad which was a very great salad too. I will have to come back here and try my usual pizza (pepperoni, bacon, onions and mushrooms) in deep dish form.

Reputations are tricky. At the end of the day, it just comes down to this: people either know you or they don't. Who knows that better than Paxti's? I suspect it's tough constantly being compared to Little Star Pizza - kind of like how Nicole Richie must have felt schlepping around the country with Paris Hilton. No, Paxti's doesn't have the cornmeal crust that makes Little Star Pizza stand out. But, Paxti's DOES have more waitstaff, terrific pizza, and room to sit comfortably without your hipster date's knee getting a little too close to your Tinkerbell underpants. Side note: Maybe my tastebuds are diff. from the other reviewers, but I thought the sauce/cheese ratio here was ideal. I'll take "Less Crowded and Almost as Mind-Blowing" for $40, Alex.
(4)Sara K.
We got the Pan pizza, half "favorite" half "spinach pesto." I wasn't too much of a fan of the spinach one because it was mushy, but my boyfriend liked it. The crust was delicious and crunchy. Good service. Definitely recommend it.

Is it blasphemous if I say that Patxi's is better than Little Star? Shall I start dodging bullets now? But I truly agree that it is. Why Patxi's is better than Little Star... - No horrendous waits. - They have RANCH!! o m gee...perfect to dip crust in it!! - Crust isn't crunchy like a cracker, but it's flakeyyy. - Waiters/waitresses are nicer. - More specials and already fixed options for deep dish pizzas. - Flat screen TVs! I think I had a better experience having deep dish pizza here at Patxi's. If i were to compile a list of deep dish pizza joints in order of tastiness, it would go... 1. Zachary's (Berkeley, CA) 2. Patxi's 3. Little Star Come here and get a deep dish with pesto in it, you can watch the green pesto ooze out, and don't forget about their sausage topping. It is DELICIOUS. Trust me. OH and another plus is that Patxi's pizza tastes super delicious when left over. Even the deep dish -- I kid you not!! :9

I don't like Chicago style pizza. But this stuff was okay, much better than Zach's for sit-down pies. Tomato sauce was tangy and good, crust had a nice chewiness and character to it. Greek salad was nice too. The place looks great, airy and bright and clean. Service is friendly and informal. The pizzas take a long time to cook but for lunch there are several varieties of slices ready. If you haven't been to Europe it might take you a while to figure out how to flush the toilet. Ha!
(4)Many Chicago transplants in San Francisco will gladly offer up criticism about Paxti's deep dish, claiming it's not authentic Chi-Town pie. However, I have never been to Chicago, and therefore I can eat this pizza without hesitation. Bottom lineIt's really good pizza. You have two choices; thin or deep dish. I often opt for the thin, because the deep dish is simply offensively big. I couldn't imagine eating an entire small without being completely disgusted with myself and avoiding looking at myself in a mirror for a good week or two. However, if you get the thin crust, you can easily devour two or three slices without guilt. You may even want to order one of their fabulous salads to go with it. My favorite at the moment is their spinach and bacon salad, although their Cesar is pretty tasty. The Paxti's Special is a good, basic pizza with sausage. The Favorite is a good call and has pepperoni and mushrooms. Anything beyond that is your gamble.

Amazing deep dish Chicago style pizza, it will mess your entire world up. Seriously people, get the pizza with pesto and spinach in it. As my friend put it: "Paxti's is so F*cking pizza it's not even pizza." Make of that what you will.
(5)Mandy C.
I usually get the Chicago Deep-Dish style, which is honestly A-OK. As someone who lives extremely close to Zachary's in Berkeley, I guess I have a tendency to be biased. The deep-dish wasn't as stuffed and filled with sauces and delicious gooey cheese as I hoped it to be. I tried the Bianco Verde once, thin-crust. Don't QUITE understand the hype; thought that the pizza was dry and bland and full of starch. But to be fair, for all the times I've gotten Patxi's, I've had it delivered. Maybe it tastes absolutely different and amazing if you actually go to the restaurant and dine-in there.
(3)Salsaboy S.
Great vibe; totally awesome staff (loved Kate); completely inadequate stuffed pizza. I was always curious about how Paxti's would stack up against Zachary's. It doesn't. If I were to ever go again, I'd opt for a thin crust pizza.
(3)Jackie D.
I ordered delivery one of my first nights in SF and Patxi's gave me a fantastic first impression on the cities pizza. The deep dish is authentic and the service was great. I had my pizza delivered in 30 minutes and it was delicatable. Maybe they knew I was new to the city... or the delivery guy went to my place on accident before his other stops. Either way, two thumbs up! I won't go anywhere else, why ruin a good thing?
(5)Morning S.
My friends and I ordered takeout: a larged deep dish with olives. We were not impressed. The pizza was barely warm. The crust tasted old. There are other pizza spots to try. I won't be back for awhile.
(1)Mary P.
Ordered a thin crust online for delivery and WOW -- it was to die for. Delivery time was lightning fast and way less than estimated online. Delivery person was friendly. Pizza itself was simply amazing. Balance of flavors and textures was totally on point, and you can tell each ingredient has been custom-prepped to maintain ultimate pizza integrity and awesomeness. A must-order if you're in SF.
(5)Andrew K.
I have had good pizza from Patxi's but something seems amiss. Have now had 4 bad experience specifically with the Hayes Valley location. Have had three deliveries blown. 1. Had a pizza with the cheese completely to one half of the pizza, the other half bare. 2. Had the completely wrong pizza delivered 3. Ordered an arugula and prosciutto pizza with no arugula and the pizza wasn't even like warm. This on top of eating in one time where we stared at our food sitting at the service station for 15 minutes with the servers screwing around before we got the food. It's becoming nearly impossible to justify the cost of this place considering how poor the quality and service have become.
